We're on a mission to make a miracle every day. As a token of our appreciation for making 2010 an epic year, we're giving away a high-quality 320Kbps download every day this November. That's 30 days of Dead! Intrigued? We're also going to put your knowledge to the test and give you the chance to win some great music from the Dead.
                                                     + More Info
You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C's, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic "comeback" tour from a spacey 70's show? Each day we'll post a free download from one of the Dead's coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in '93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen's harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? Step right up and try your hand.

Each day, the first person to guess the venue & date correctly will get a Road Trips of their choice. If you’re not first but you've answered correctly, you will also be automatically entered for a weekly prize of THE WARNER BROTHERS STUDIO ALBUMS VINYL BOX (EXCLUSIVE EDITION) or a FORMERLY THE WARLOCKS boxed set. Log in now and enter to win!

30 Days of Dead

Thank you very much. This has been an epic month. I have been a Dead Head since about 1976. Saw three shows. Three of the four in New Mexico. Have listened to the recordings the whole time though and this month has taken me back through the years. Especially loved the So Many Roads, hard to believe it's been fifteen years, miss you Jerry.

Thank you again dead.net

Soundin so sweet...

Mornin all, and a beautiful one at that! I am truly Thankful for the bounty that has been bestowed upon us! Thank you all who have worked so hard to one more time touch my Heart... my Soul.... I am Eternally Grateful. Sittin her in Scranton, first calming snowfall of the year! Just one more reason to Smile... Smile... Smile..... Hey everyone have a safe, happy Holiday. I don't do the guessin game, been around long enough for most of em, just to lazy I guess. I had a hard enough time rememberin the song they just played once the next next song started! I had to write em down after the excitement slightly eased, just for long enough to scratch it down. Never had a bad show, never once complained....

Enjoy...

A Thousand Thanks

Cds of these downloads got me from north of Albany to Philadelphia to pick up my kid at UPenn and back yesterday. (I added a few others, though, including a really long Lovelight.)

Thanks again! You guys are Grate!

Wonderful sound on this one, always thought this tune had a real Kingfish feel to it, you can almost hear Matt Kelly's harp floating thru there, thanx Deadnet for the downloads, you got the site running well today.
Thanx CC for yesterday's download and thanx kusavi for the links to yesterdays download too. We should all be thankful to you for keeping the tunes available for the unfortunate who, like me, couldn't get it to work.

It's brother to brother and it's man to man

Awesome! I love me some Brother Esau. This selection sounds post-coma, perhaps '87?? From Bobby's lyrical reference to LA and singing "this whole field will understand", I'm guessing Ventura Co. Fairgrounds, 6/12/87. Another wild guess. This Dead trivia is so much fun!

Happy Thanksgiving, Dead community!!! We have much to be thankful for in the Dead world, don't we?

Esau Only on Cassette

It seems it was later released on other albums but I do remember the little sticker on the plastic wrap saying this song was only available on the cassette tape. I went through two cassettes and wore out the auto-reverse cassette deck. The third one was stolen out of the car along with the new cassette deck so that's the year I bought a CD player and gave up on cassettes. Sure enough, Esau wasn't on the CD.

I'm thinking this is 1984

The keys are unmistakable and I'm really leaning towards 1984.

I got it!

after searching an hour on deadlists - thought it was post-coma myself, so started in 87 and worked my way backwards...heard lots of good recordings, and finally found a perfect match!

As it turns out, I saw the two shows that followed this one, which was too far a drive from Rochester for us...

Thanksgiving

Kindred - I, for one, am thankful and grateful for these downloads. Thank you Dead Net! We are all fortunate to be among the "haves" of this world - we must be since we have computers and access to the net - but let's not forget the "have-nots" we share this big blue ball with. It has been my experience that the extended Dead family is a very caring and giving bunch. Let us all carry it “furthur” – the music has never stopped and the love never will. Peace to all!

Esau!

Nice version, thanx DeadNet! Great Bobby tune... I was bummed when I "upgraded" to CD for In The Dark and found My Brother missing! A cassette bonus track? What was up with that? Well, this is a great version :-)

Keep rockin', all! Peace, love, music and THANKS!!!
