We're on a mission to make a miracle every day. As a token of our appreciation for making 2010 an epic year, we're giving away a high-quality 320Kbps download every day this November. That's 30 days of Dead! Intrigued? We're also going to put your knowledge to the test and give you the chance to win some great music from the Dead.
                                                     + More Info
You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C's, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic "comeback" tour from a spacey 70's show? Each day we'll post a free download from one of the Dead's coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in '93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen's harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? Step right up and try your hand.

Each day, the first person to guess the venue & date correctly will get a Road Trips of their choice. If you’re not first but you've answered correctly, you will also be automatically entered for a weekly prize of THE WARNER BROTHERS STUDIO ALBUMS VINYL BOX (EXCLUSIVE EDITION) or a FORMERLY THE WARLOCKS boxed set. Log in now and enter to win!

Sweet!

This track is sweet, love that guitar > piano talkback between Jerry and Brent!

Downloaded first time straight @;-=

And thanks to lazylightnin2 for that little glyph, cool stuff!

Still hoping for a Stella and a Scarlet>Fire would be awesome, don't even mind that being a Brit I can't enter the guessing game, this whole month has been such a buzz! Oh, and a Bird Song with a long jam would be amazing, but, hey, I'll take what comes!

Thanks everyone!

Lean and mean

A lean, mean version with great playing throughout, and good vocals by Jerry. One of the all-time best Shakedowns I think. Pretty cool interplay between Brent and Jer. After the tip I got it pretty fast, this is from one of the best shows of the early 80's. Hopefully we'll see an official release of this someday. There are definitely some good audience recordings out there as well.

can't never have too much fun

Now that the bar has been set pretty high and the community is licking their lips for more (dare I say MORE!). I am way solid in the 12 Days of Jerry, but then what? How about a series of "connected" songs? It would be ever so nice to hear a high quality Scarlet>Grey>Fire. They did that what..4 times??? Go rare, go crazy! Fierce Peace everyone.

Tomorrow's Clue

This tune was recorded in the studio in 1970, but was not included on a studio LP.

They never grew so tall before
They may never grow so tall again

Have the studio outtakes ever been released? It's not available on llama due to certain 'issues'. I wonder what that's all about...

hmm

If tomorrow's song is the one I'm thinking of, there could be 64 performances to choose from...
