30 Days Of Dead - November 2nd
+ More Info
You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C's, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic "comeback" tour from a spacey 70's show? Each day we'll post a free download from one of the Dead's coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in '93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen's harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? Step right up and try your hand.
Each day, the first person to guess the venue & date correctly will get a Road Trips of their choice. If you’re not first but you've answered correctly, you will also be automatically entered for a weekly prize of THE WARNER BROTHERS STUDIO ALBUMS VINYL BOX (EXCLUSIVE EDITION) or a FORMERLY THE WARLOCKS boxed set. Early '70's. No idea really but thanks for the treat!
Can I still download yesterdays song , I lost the first download
Jdogg76...the track runs 12:05...the file is 27.7 mb...sounds like Fillmore West 2-27-69...the Live/Dead version...
the track runs just over 20 mins. i've tried downloading it 3x and i can't seem to get it all?
And what a great way to ignite my senses and intuitive guidance.
Guess I still have some inner honing to do as I was putting this in '68. Thanks for the fun ride!
I guessed 1/17/70 but upon further review I am gonna have to flip-flop and say 4/20/69... a third pick is 3/2/69 @ the Filmore West.
It's likely followed by St. Steven, but it's difficult to identify the previous song (if there was one). Could be Doin' That Rag, hence the 4/20/69 choice.
Prop 19 anyone? Just sayin'
First off, Thank you for the free downloads. I have a question about the file size on Dark Star. The file size on today's download was much larger than the file size on yesterday's download, but this Dark Star only clocks in at 7:23 but the download yesterday was 10:03. Thanks again.
Actually, its 48.5 mb and just about 20 minutes. The file takes several tries to get the full thing; not sure if its a server/capacity issue or what. You should probably check New Speedway, too, as you may have only a partial on that one.
6/5/69. Different pitch from archive version, but rest of the intro is identical.
Yes, it definitely was 6/5/69 at Fillmore West in SF. I was not the first though. Maybe the weekly prize will be good.
...Smell the tail of the dragon...
I only got 2:48 of Dark Star. Is the download an exerpt?
It seems because of server issues, that the download is not fully up yet....I think they just need to work out the kinks. If you don't get a full download, you are going to have to re-download it when it fully becomes available. Just replace the old file you had. It's quite a large file and again the song should be 20:26 in length or something close since it's from the archive and we don't know for sure.
No clue on this one. Seems like early 70's.
Thanks for the head's up I downloaded it again and got the full file.
i think i got it all. 49.7mb and 21:12
I went with 3/27/69 Merced, CA.... we'll seeeee!!! fingers crossed...
Nice Dark Star BTW!
What was the date of yesterdays , I lost it so I will get it elsewhere , thanks .
