Chilligan’s Char-grilled Swingset Adventure Part 1 Vine
+ More Info
You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C's, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic "comeback" tour from a spacey 70's show? Each day we'll post a free download from one of the Dead's coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in '93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen's harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? Step right up and try your hand.
Each day, the first person to guess the venue & date correctly will get a Road Trips of their choice. If you’re not first but you've answered correctly, you will also be automatically entered for a weekly prize of THE WARNER BROTHERS STUDIO ALBUMS VINYL BOX (EXCLUSIVE EDITION) or a FORMERLY THE WARLOCKS boxed set. Log in now and enter to win! - Less Info

Sweet Sweet Music
Long Live The Good Ol Grateful Dead
Thanks for a real good time.30 great tunes.. Keep it goin.....
Thank You and good night................
Many thanks for these incredible tunes in great sound quality.
I loved this month as I got to listen to lots of music from many eras of the band.
I was hoping the subscription service was going to be for daily downloads!
... next time please include Eyes of the World ... :-)
My record collection:
Thank you for a real good time - and free tunes!
Nuthin left to do ....
Great collection of tunes. Kind of like a 3 disc version of So Many Roads.
I would love to find out the reasoning behind the song selection. Was it so that there is a variation in the difficulty in coming up with date and location?
Clearly the Sug Mags is one of the tougher selections.
Also the stats would be nice. Which was the most common wrong selection? Who managed to get the most correct selections?
I'd like to thank those responsible for giving us this FREE music. These are 30 songs from the 2000+ shows that the Dead played. It's a cross section of their music - not "The 30 best versions of Dead songs ever played."
Not all of us complain!
...if you didn't already know. The "30 song" statement about the bonus disc has been removed as has any info on where the bonus disc mat'l will come from (other than it's "unreleased"), and wording has been added to say that at least the first two releases will be complete shows, with add'l material to fill up the discs. All releases will be three disc sets.
It now says the finishing touches are being put on the first two releases, so somebody should just man up and let us know what they are LOL.
Thank you for a real good time... I loved the free tunes and had a lot of fun guessing every day!
The month has gone by real fast. Happy holidays and peace!
Indeed you are!!!
I'd just like to thank everybody involved in making this all happen. Many thanks also to 3phase and particularly to Canyon Critter.
And to echo Canyon Critter, thank you to Jerry, Bobby, Phil, Billy, Mickey, Pig, Brent, Bruce, Donna, Keith, Vince, Tom, Mr. Graham, Mr. Lemieux, and Marye. Not to mention the kind souls like Rex, RamRod, etc. etc. etc. etc.
Hopefully we can all do this again sooner rather than later - and a suggestion for anyone thinking about posting any negative comments - "been thinking you got to mellow slow, if you get confused, listen to the music play".
I would also very much like to see the stats.
It would be neat to know how long it took, after the post, for the winners to nail it. It would be cool, down to the second.
I'm sure all that stuff is considered "market research", obtained at great expense, and be held close to the vest. LOL
What a ride. Like a roller coster; way crazy in the beginning, lots of ups and downs, and round and rounds In the middle, and at the end it just slows and stop.
Get me another ticket, I'll run around and get in line again!
HEY DEAD PEOPLE, ENJOY THESE TREATS AND TURN SOME OF YOUR FAVE HEADPEOPLE ON TO THESE SOUNDS AND WE ALL WILL ENJOY THE LOVE SOME MORE.... MORE LOVE/MORE DEAD PLEASE...
OUR LOVE IS REAL, NOT FADE AWAY.....
Had a great time with all these tunes for the past month, and I'd like to thank Deadroots.net for helping with the ones I missed!
HSC - What a fun trip. Friends and family have been enthusiastically patient with "download time!" Including from the Bear Creek Festival where androit hot spots are weak, taking an hour to download the tune that would take 10 minutes at home. But all mine are from the day deadnet put em out, except day 1, Speedway. Thank you canyon critter. Thank you deadnet!!
To some of ya'll; never look a gift horse in the EYES
Congrats to all the contest winners, whoever you may be. I've got some old tapes that would stump your ass.
Does ANYONE have a working file for the A version
Ive got EVERY single other song and version they have offered and would be GRATEFUL for the end to be as wonderful as the last month has been.....ANYONE??
for a real good time!
- nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile!!!
It WAS FREE people. Crazy amount of people complaining. Very bizarre? Thank you DEADNET for the freebies.
Some great music!!!!
Brings back memories ... or lack there of.
Makes me happy and sad all at once
That waz Fun. :-)))))
Hello baby, I'm gone, goodbye.
Hey now? Where are you?
It's been a grate month, what new music will I listen to each day? I guess there's the rest of the shows that these picks came from.
How's that shirt go?
gonna say 70's but that's all I got....thanks for the 30 in 30; lot's of great memories
Thank you to the folks at DEADNET for making the gift of music possible. Additionally, thanks for being here for a place for us to come for music, community and all things Dead.
You are very much appreciated.
First I wasn't to happy about another sugar magnolia but after a listen I am satisfied a good way to end an awesome event
Thank you for the songs. Have a Grateful Day!
CC, Thanks for the links! It's been a great 30 days of tunes! Jerry, Bobby, Pig Pen, Phil? What does it matter? Hey, it's all good... lovin'. Cast the seeds and let'em grow. Peace to all and happy holidays.
...this November, and elsewhere. I've had a blast this month with y'all trying to guess the daily picks. They've been doozies too! I've only had 6 right...never in on time...but always enjoying the hunt. Parable, the only game in town. Thank you dead.net for your unwitting support of us deadheads and the fulfillment of the chase. We've all had a blast! This last pick I'm sure I'm way off, I chose 5-5-77, but on second thought it sounds like fall/winter '78. Good luck to all!
This has all been wonderful, but now I'm on my way...
I've had a really good time.
Fare you well
Fare you well
I love you more than words
Thanks so much for the 30 days of free music. Only 1 band would allow people to share and enjoy their music for free, proving that sometimes it's not all about the $. Its been like Christmas everyday, being totally excited to come home and see what song is up next.
Thanks for the miracles
logging in and heading straight for the big 30 Days of the DEAD banner....
Really enjoyed the Deadicated Thanksgiving.
Peace be with you.
I would like to applaud you on the 30 days of Dead. I enjoyed coming home to see what was on the menu for the day. Some nice surprises along the way.
I am very Grateful for the free downloads & a nice addition to my Ipod music stash & I had fun with the contest regardless of whether I won or not. I too am not sure why there were some repeat songs of alternate venue but will enjoy them for what they are.
I look forward to Furthur opportunities to have some fun with the music that will always be a part of my life & I can only hope site will continue to evolve as the Dead have done since the first time jammed.
Thank You ☮
It's all about the ♫
Sure would have liked to have a sweet Scarlet Begonias!!
AND I BID YOU GOODNIGHT!
I will second that emotion!
31 days Dead sounds like a great idea!

Thanks for rockin' my soul.
Isla Vista Loves You All !!!
it's finally over - what a long, strange (but very cool) trip it's been!
...for all your hard work, dead.net
a good 30 days...after these jams, I know & atleast hope you will do this again in some shape or form...really thought today was gonna be a Casey Jones! the big sniff clue on Twitter was really misleading.haveta brush up on what song was started what year...1970, whenever, they are all from the beginning of time to me! 2 sugarmagnolia sunshine daydreams, 2 let it grows, a few out there yet to be concerned with, just the way real deadheads like it. love & life to the net.peace.
The late night activity on this board has been enjoyable to say the least. It reminds me of listening to that underground radio station out of Little Rock that played great music into the wee hours of the morning. Beaker Theater?
I have to admit I was expecting something other than a repeat of Sugar Magnolia for today's selection.
Just in case you don't have the time to listen to several hundred versions of Sugar M. on the archive (LMA), you might want to start with this one. Just paste the link into your browser and Jump Like a Willy's in 4-Whell Drive!!
Best Wishes and To All A Good Night,
Jimmy the Cop
Thank youuuuuuuuuu! For a real good time!
Loved every minute of it!
Actually got quite a few right, but of course I didn't try until it was 9 or so. But it was still a lot of fun! My mom was wishin for a scarlet/fire every day. Hahaha, woops.
Anyways, thanks again! Love my free music.
Good fun these thirty days. Especially enjoyed comparing the early and later Sugar Magnolia, and the WRS Let It Grow with the later standalone. Yeah, I can do it with official releases and auds too, but this was was fun, and I could cop a bit of midday enjoyment during a stretch of working.
--- ethics is using free will to choose good over evil ---
....I guess we'll need to come back one more time, in the morning, to confirm if we guessed right (that is, those of us who are too lazy to go to the archive and listen and are just following our noses ~ with a little help from Deadbase ~ instead). Well, and to see who's the weekly winner.
Spectrum 5-13-78, I say ~ based on the happy punch factor.
If I were right, AND very very lucky, would I choose the Aoxomoxoa original mix LP, or the Warlocks box....?
Thanks for the wonderful music, and giving it to us free & fun.
The Grateful Dead, Dead.net, and all of you are great!
