Chilligan’s Char-grilled Swingset Adventure Part 1 Vine
+ More Info
You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C's, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic "comeback" tour from a spacey 70's show? Each day we'll post a free download from one of the Dead's coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in '93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen's harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? Step right up and try your hand.
Each day, the first person to guess the venue & date correctly will get a Road Trips of their choice. If you’re not first but you've answered correctly, you will also be automatically entered for a weekly prize of THE WARNER BROTHERS STUDIO ALBUMS VINYL BOX (EXCLUSIVE EDITION) or a FORMERLY THE WARLOCKS boxed set. Log in now and enter to win! - Less Info
...and I'm still boogiein'!
Again, thank you thank you thank you, thank you thank you again. Again, Thank You.

Thanks for the free downloads. As some have said, not all the selections would have been my choice. Too much of Donna imo. Was kinda hopin for Friend of the Devil or Jack Straw.
Free tunes, good time. just keep truckin, go further, 12 days of xmas? new tunes for the new year? love some tunes for valentines? st stephens for st pattys day?
you get my drift, we appreciate what you do.
love to have some more quality recordings! Fooorr Frrrreeeeee

Hey Dead crew, thanks for our free concert in internet park!
Love over gold
This has been a lot of fun, and there have been some real nuggets of Deadly goodness, esp. that brain-scrambling Alligator. That made my month.
As for the negative comments that post here from time to time, I have a little game that I play. As I read the bitching, kvetching and complaining, I hear the words being spoken in the voice of Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons. My wife says, "What are you laughing at?" and I just can't adequately explain it. Picky fans: what up with that?
Thank you for a great month! This has been a blast!
I only wish there was a version of "half-step, Mississippi Uptown, tupelo! Hello Baby, I'm gone, good-bye" included. It was a signature Garcia song
Best Wishes Everyone!! Much Love and Many Thanks!!
Thank you, for a real good time.
What a long strange trip it's been
Okay folks, this is it and "Sugar Magnolia III > Sunshine Daydream" with Donna sounds most excellent. :)
The links to the songs are linked from this post -- enjoy!
"As a whole, in general, the Grateful Dead is not benign."
- Donna Jean Godchaux
I agree with (Jackstraw), I've enjoyed this whole month of free downloads and triing to guess. It has been a grateful month.
Thanks for giving it to us Dead.net
It was very pleasing to the ears and nice flashbacks of when I saw/heard MY favorite verison of each tune.
Have a grateful Holiday All!!!
For the songs and albums you create you must:
1. Download the art that you want for that particular set of songs (i.e my album art work or you can use your own files) and remember where you put them.
2. Highlight all the songs that you want for that particular set of songs (even all of them if you want or you can seperate into albums)
3. Once highlighted right on the highlight and select get info.
4. Click on Artwork tab and then add and place the art that you want for those songs.
5. Your done.
Good treats from a variety of less-heard eras.
You'll never hear me complain about free music.
Thanks to all who played a part!
I'm assuming that everyone has XM/Sirius radio and listens to the GD channel; if not--why not? It's a treasure!
But what do we do tomorrow. Big Thanks to everyone involved, especially the hard working people who had to deal with the technical aspects at Rhino/Dead.net. And to Canyon Critter for the art and the info. I still want Day Job ;>.
I hope I got it this time, and I hope it is retribution for the whole "Easy Wind" fiasco earlier in the month. In all, I can't complain about all the free tunes and fun times here. So the folks at dead.net get a little confused sometimes... shocker!
Here's lookin' at a grateful December!
who here doesn't love that? :)
It's cool that there are animated folks in the crowd, too - GD on a flatbed truck in the middle of Haight Street, 3/3/68
Gotta love the patch of Skeleton Sam from the GD Movie - I want one!
This has been fun - thanks everyone!
Thanks for the Tunes.
Can anyone send me a copy of the "Let It Grow" I couldnt get that download.
didn't we already get this one and let it grow, just saying. thanks for all the great music
Counting A and B versions,
Garcia: 18 songs
Weir: 14 songs
Pigpen: 3 songs
Multi: 3 songs
So quit bitchin' about too many Bob songs. I would have gladly given up some Garcia-sang tunes to hear more Pigpen.
The duplicate songs are kinda a drag, but I don't need dead.net or Rhino to help me make a play list. I can pick the songs I want to hear and it was neat that they picked songs/versions I wouldn't have. This contest has made me dig back into my shows after who-knows how long.
So thanks everyone who made this happen.
What? You guys can't find 30 DIFFERENT Dead tunes?!
No Phil tunes?!! You ever heard of Phil Lesh?!
Was pulling for 365 days of Dead, don't know if I can handle that much Bobby!
Sorry to go out all agro. It was fun. I'm just sayin'....Let's Puff!!
Though quite Happy with all the wonderful tunes, I am still hoping and holding out for something special for December- I am sure evryone here would be pysched beyond recognition to find that Dead.net has more treasures hidden :) Especially seeing it will be the Holidays :)
Free to download...
Free to listen to and enjoy...
And especially: Free to whine about?!?!?
Ah well, thanks to the folks who gave us this nice little gift of music...
> You ever heard of Phil Lesh?!
DON'T LET PHIL SING
DON'T LET PHIL SING
DON'T LET PHIL SING
I was just telling my old friend in Oregon about this 30 Days thing last night and he had no clue. Even though he was on the bus before me, he is travelling a lot and simply does not surf the web much. Thank Uncle Bobo that he can still access the downloads, at least for another day. Will you keep this here for a bit longer so that everyone can share the joy? Remember, some of us are old fashioned and afraid of computers!
Well done !
You folks @ Dead.Net have done an Outstanding job.
Let hope to see more free-downloads in the future.
Great promo for Dead.Net.
So its a win , win all around !!
" And, Thank you .. for a real good time "
Thanks to all involved for thirty days of getting rounder, Sugar is still playing, all is as it should be.
yetay, Thank you all for a Grateful Dead Family that has kept the Love. That no other Family in history has done like the Dead Heads, and the Grateful Dead has done, and we are going Furthur!!!
Thank you for a Really Good Time
Love is Real Not Fade Away!!!
DFA/Grateful Life, yetay
I so loved the thirty days of Dead. What an awesome concept. Although right now it is the 29 days of Dead for this site was inaccessible to me all day. I kept getting "site location not found," and now find the page to no longer exist.
Can anyone help with this dilemma.
haven't had this much fun since the dead tour o9. enjoyed the
feedback from the shows from afar & didn't miss a show.
thanks to the tapers and the archive.org..
i streamed the gorge show live from my hospital bed...2 days out
of spinal surgery.
music is the best therapy
thanks for the sunshine daydream!!!!!!
love to you all
yetay, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Ho ho's, and a Grateful New Year!!! To all, yetay
Thanks to dead.net for the music and the community for the comments and input! I was disappointed to see all the criticism/complaints. Deadnet didn't have to do this for us but they did. Thanks again!
Dead.net Thanks for all the 30 days of Dead. Thanks to the other people posting all the cuts after they were taken off the site. I wasn't able to access them at first.
What about the Road Trips subscription? Give more info please. Sounds like another dumbass marketing ploy.You don't need to be taking my $96 upfront like this for;
"Sign up for a Road Trips 2011 Subscription and you'll get an exclusive bonus disc, with music drawn from one of the next two Road Trips releases, sent to you along with Road Trips Vol. 4 No. 3."
Let me get this straight Dead.net, So are you saying I'll get a bonus disc of music with RT Vol 4 No 3 that I will be buying in RT Vol 4 No 4 or RT Vol 5 No 1 and free shipping? Sounds redundant and not a good deal to be putting up all that money up front for a Bonus disc full of tunes that I will be buying in future Road Trips volumes. Yes, I'll be saving $ on shipping for 4 volumes. You need to sweeten the deal for us to be tying up our money like this. Not all of us have money to be tied up like this in hard economic times.
"Don't You Let That Deal Go Down No No"
Long-time fan but new to the site, I want to send a big thank you to all involved in providing the tunes and to this incredible community for posting past dls and awesome artwork, providing spirited discourse, and exuding many Grateful vibes. Thank you!
8:25 version of Sugar Magnolia.
I dig it... gets pretty interesting around the 5:30 mark. (hint hint)
hahahahaha! Love it, thanks!
I am ever Grateful for this month of Free tunes!
This was a wonderful promotion and I enjoyed both the music and the challenge. It was also great to see that the community is still alive with kindness (this means you, Canyon Critter!!) ...
Thank you again to everyone involved with making this a reality.
Thanks to everyone who had a hand in making my birthday month more fun every day. I looked forward to each new song of the day, I enjoyed guessing even though I do not think I got any of them correct, and I also want to thank deadroots for letting me grab the tunes I missed the first time around. Thanks CC for the Artwork too! I will enjoy adding these tunes to my iPod.
I'm sure there was a lot of effort that went into doing this behind the scenes, and I am Grateful that some kind people are still out there to get some nice free previously unreleased music distributed to the world.
Aloha and mahalo!
..for a real good time. Thanks to all for 30 Days of Dead. I'm curious to hear how other people did on guessing the tunes. I was 27-3, plus I got the B version of He's Gone. I didn't win anything, even when I got something in 5 minutes because there was always someone faster than me. How'd y'all do?
To insert cover art into iTunes: 1-Select the songs/album that you want to attach art to (click on name of top song, then Shift-click bottom song);
2-Cntl-I will open an info window--there is a box that says "Artwork"--drag your artwork into that box and clcik OK
The Music downloads are free. No complaints.
As to the duplications:
Two appear to be to illustrate perhaps changes/evolution of the band's sound (He's Gone A + B, Sugar Magnolia '71 + Donna era)
One is most probably a stoned mistake (Tennessee Jed => Let It Grow with the Date also attached) Some one was clearly not all there when this one was uploaded. The second LIG is only 9 months later.
And one is more to show perhaps how the Dead took raw material and polished it live (Easy Wind A+B).
As to the Jerry tunes, 18 of the 32 are sung by dude, with Pigpen pulling duty on 3 and Mr. Weir on 13. The whole crew does 2 (Rider and Mason's). I don't see much misrepresentation, although the "classic" Jerry tunes are not here.
What a long strange trip it´s been! Bless all involved. Special thanx to all the people out there that love The Dead and who helped out - making it work - DeadHeads are the nicest folks!
I play mostly basses in swedish jazz-jamband MOVIO...but occasionally fiddle and cornet, too. visit www.movio.se for more info! thanx!
But here is the final 30 Days Downloads. These ones should be everything that was available.
Also, I wanted to ask you guys something. I and many of us Dead.Netters have noticed a great conversation that was brought out by this 30 Days of Downloads month. I've requested that Marye put up a forum topic for us to keep this conversation going. Perhaps a discussion in the forum where we could play games, discuss eras, and take this 30 days discussion furthur!
Any ideas on what the topic should be titled???
Thank You Dead.Net!
For a Wonduful Month!
Here's the links from the Downloads so far. Hope this helps everyone out that didn't get the shows. Love is Real♥....

If you can't find your files...find your default download folder....look under search and use *songname* to search for it. For instance in windows look under the start button>start search and enter *newpotatocaboose*
Also, make sure to clear your browsers cache before reloading a file.
Thank Jerry, Bobby, Phil, Billy, Mickey, Pig, Brent, Bruce, Donna, Keith, Vince, Tom, Mr. Graham, Mr. Lemieux, and Marye. Not to mention the kind souls like Rex, RamRod, etc. etc. etc. etc.
But your welcome my kind brothers and sisters.
It's been a blast. Thanks for all from dead.net and all the comments. Nice country to live in, where all opinions can and should be heard and considered, but not necessarily accepted. I'm going to miss this. There will be an emptiness at my noon hour. I wish that other songs made it but the "Dead's Greatest Hits' wasn't part of the deal. I didn't get a Dark Star at a lot of shows either. Keeps me coming back for more so hats off to the network for doing exactly what they wanted to do, as Jerry and the Boys (and Girl at one point) used to do. So let's keep talking it up so we can hear all the voices.
I also need more information before going on the RT subscription.
Thank you for the music. Thanks for creating it, sharing it, hosting it, and all the cool discussion that surrounds it. A real treat!
Thanks for all the tunes over the past 30 days!! It has been a real treat listening and identifying at least the period that the tune was from. Let's do it again.
I also wanted to say that I still miss the musical genius of Jerry Garcia 15 years later. I am still grateful for the 23 years I enjoyed hearing him live. His playing was truly inspirational!
Quel long et étrange voyage ça a été ! (What a long strange trip it´s been !)
Let's do it again next year!
.........for making the last 30 days a joy to experience. Something new to look forward to every day, and hours of glorious music to enjoy! What a treat. Thanks, guys.
Felt like checking in. Conditioned response, I suppose. lol.
Hope everybody got what they wanted out of all this. I really
enjoyed the music, and all the great comments. Lots of fun.
Thanks again, and have a nice day.
