San Francisco, CA, Winterland Arena
This is one of the very few Grateful Dead recordings in the vault from 1967. But what a show! It also includes early versions of "That’s It For The Other One" and "Lovelight."

I am really glad that they are going to do this again this year. I had so much fun last year trying to guess the show and the year. Unfortunately I never got any of them right. At least it was fun to try. I really hope that they do different songs this year than they did last year because there were so many great songs that they did not offer last year so I am hoping that they really go into the archives and pull out a lot of unique songs that you don't hear very often. I am wondering if they are allowed to offer songs that the Grateful Dead played live that were written by other artists. So here's to another rockin' November of fantastic Grateful Dead music.
I couldn't download it either.
It streamed just fine and sounded awfully good. I wish I could save it. Another "Limited Edition? limited to PC owners?
Steve Jobs spins in his grave.
If he's such a *GENIUS* he should have figured out a way to make his exclusively-priced boutique products work better. And it's not The 30 Days of Dead making him spin--it's the ghosts of all the suicides from his Asian factories.
The link and d/l isn't working with my Mac....looks like it is set up to work with a PC, but right clicking with a Mac don't mean a thing....any suggestions??????
Try holding the "control" key and clicking.
I can't get the file to play on itunes, presumably because of the .jc! thingy. I'm sorry I'm not more computer savvy. Can anyone help so that I can retrieve these files?
Thanks in advance,
I had a ball with this last year. Also met a dude through the contest and we ended up sending a flash drive back and forth with a ton of music! I was one of the weekly winners, and got the LP box set. Big fun for the next month!
who just keep on giving and giving - I return your kindness with many thanks and blessings, and look forward with excitement to the whole month of November.
30 Days of Dead Round 2!!!!!!!!
I made a a full itunes album with the first 30 Days that I've played many times.. it makes a great Dead mix. Hopefully I'll win one of the days......
This is definitely from the Winterland-SF show on October 22, 1967.
i hope your right - thats what i picked
i need some new warm clothes
I'm sayin' 10/22 at Winterland. Some pretty sexy organ work there from Pigpen!
Are we doing this again?? Really?
OK let's go!
Thanks to the Dead and Rhino for doing this again!
or perhaps a certain Marijuana Defense Benefit show? would seem relevant giving the circumstances these days. sweet version whatever it is. me likey
Would guess November 11, 1967. Sounds like it anyway.
Very sweet of you guys to keep this an annual treat! It isn't quite the same around Thanksgiving without some "new" Dead music to play around with. Don't be afraid to treat us to another selection from the '73 DesMoines show; that Playin' was my favorite installment in last year's assortment.
... is not working for me ... any other solutions ?
D'oh ! Got it ... knew learning to read would work out for me someday ...
Can anyone clue me in how to download this on an IMAC?
Doesn't seem to download as easy as last year. When I
hit download it just streams, I can't get to go to my download folder or
One option is to hold the "Control" key while clicking on the link. That should bring the same contextual menu as "right-clicking" with a mouse.
Just right click, then select download linked file, it will then do to your desktop or your download folder.
This sure sounds like a raw New Potato so I'm guessing it's a 68. This one would be tough unless you had super-lists from the early days.
Pretty sure this standalone version is from a well-known show in '67.
The latest (and last) Road Trips would be a superb prize!
Loved the 30 Days last year, glad there is no race this year, but ALWAYS jonesin' for free mp3's to add as filler on CDs :)
I still wonder if there will be a collection of songs from the 30 Days....now that they are doing a second time, I doubt so. But it would be cool.
I want a personalized and numbered download from all 30 days,
I want artwork for every song, and I want to choose the artist,
I want all the 30 downloads available today, I am too special to wait,
I want a sticker, button, magnet or shirt supplied for every song whether I win the contest or not,
I want an apology from David if a song is chosen that I do not like, or from a decade I do not like,
Just kidding – of course, another 30 days of the Dead is great way to start off November
and am now listening to the whole show - I was wondering what I was gonna listen to today to keep me motivated at work :)
thanks DL - look forward to tomorrow!
...since we last played this great game?
Thanks for bringing back the 30 Days!
Last year it ended with the Europe '72 announcement. Can the Deaconomy support an annual 73-disc box set and will it's other half let it???
And what a sweet little Caboose too.
I entered a guess, but ain't sure if the server grabbed it.
Nice surprise with the 2nd annual 30 Days!
(22.3 MB, 9'.46")
for not making it a race like last year!
The cool thing about this is listening to 26 versions of New Potato Caboose to find the right one - you're bound to discover something you haven't heard before!
Case in point - last year, there were 18 versions of Cream Puff War to select from, most of which I had never heard before - a Dead education is the most fun kind (~);}
Good luck everyone! - Zeb
Thanks for this, Dave and co - keep us stocked up until Dave's Pix start!
Way cool guys. Still working my way through The Complete Europe '72 and then you give us more, free, music! Thanks again.
And if you're taking suggestions a '74 Eyes of the World or a '77/'78 Scarlet/Fire would be most welcome!
Hooray for the return of 30 Days of Dead! I love this tradition:-)
I wonder if the value of the prizes will vary with the difficulty of the task: a T-Shirt today for New Potato Caboose (for which Dead Base lists only 26 performances) and a Dave's Pick's Subscription for the Dead Head who can identify a specific Drums>Space...
