Darn my adh is always causing me to b the bridegoon never the prize. Do you have a special needs contest? I am a special needs dead head, my needs are special: Give me the prize or I willl have to shoot you, if you give me the prize I willl shoot you anyways.
Just kidding.; Oh god darn darn darn I wanna win, Ok even though it is obvious I willl never win, here is a good recipe, cause I love all dead heads every where and I adore the band and if they knew how much they would never ever b sad ever never no matter how hard things are. EWE I am 53 and so full of life and we had to say goodbye to JG at 53 fareyewell I love U more than words can tell.
Ok enough of the smaltzee waltzee here is the recipe.
Holiday pot lucks gettin ya down?
Here is one you can whip out on any budget and on any work schedule and the crowds will say Wowee Yowee, and you can turn smile and say well it is just us dead tribe that know this stuff and say by the way have you ever heard the band further????? 7 Walkers No oh honey you have not lived yet. although in all honesty I have not seen these bands either but I will I will.
Anyway here is a great trick and we are all pranksters at heart:
I call it Mexican lasagna. layer up those delicious corn tortilias with sharp cheddar, brown rice, red onion, crimini mushrooms, black olives, black beans, broccoli, cabbage, carrots and what ever the heck you have in the ole fridge. then cover with enchilada sauce PUt the sauce mainly in the top. A little on the bottom to help with heat and remember that ole concept gravity, yep rocket science is not required but hey it does not hurt. Remember when making enchilada casserole, you do not have to roll each enchilada but rather layer these suckers with a lot of yummy ingredients.
Yeah baby this is always a big hit.
Can I win the tinkets and music from good recipes??? Come on pranksters can't follow the rules, they follow their heart.
I so remember this show!! I was miracled by a friend, and it was my first clean and sober show. I walked around to the back of the crowd to get some air and ran into the Wharf Rats!!
What a blessing it was to be with like minded Deadheads who enjoyed the show without enhancements.
I learned I could enjoy the Dead without getting wasted like I use to.
Thank you for bringing this hot rendition of S & D. IT WAS A GREAT SHOW. I remember it all!
Thank you for the down loads. Its been a charm every day coming into to new/old tunes!!
Any chance that day 30 will be "Morning Dew"? It's all I need to complete this most amazing download experience !!! Thanks for the gift of music.
a moment of silence for the Celtics....
Go Knicks !!!
Finally got an Apple laptop to use and get caught up! All downloaded no problems! Thank You!!!
Does anyone have a song list for vol 2?
well, it took me 28 days, but i finally got one on the first try. yay me. this has really been a lot of fun. thanks to everyone involved. maybe a days between next year, wink wink. 12/19/94 is a really great one, as i recall.
it's funny. we, deadheads, sure do get sort of entitled, don't we. what i wouldn't give...
we are all entitled to our opinions. and we all excersise that. are we any better/worse than any other fan out there? seems like it to me, idk. that's part of what makes us deadheads i guess. i have loved most of the tunes we got this month. i thought the speedway was pretty bad, but it was pretty cool to hear. and that let it grow from 82. holy crap! why some of you worship the 70's... i don't know :)
dave should be blowin' us out hear in the next couple days, but in the meantimes...
we can all agree that The Grateful Dead is, has been, always will be and will never not be the greatest show on earth.
ps, try to see a little Furthur. too many drunks yelling over the music, lol
also, there is a great studio version in the so many roads box set. one of the highlights of the box set for me. if you can't tell, days between is one of my fav garcia/hunter songs...ever! like all truly great artists, they got better with age!
i think this has been put out in the tapers section before, so if it's not tomorrow, go back and find it... it may take a while, but good luck!
I remember a show where Bobby broke a string just as they were starting Samson - so Jerry and the rest kept on playing and noodling the intro while Bobby and Parish strung and tuned a new string. It was actually great seeing them jam the intro for several minutes without the rhythm guitar.
Don't remember where it was except my visual memory of the view I had is of a theater and pretty good seats - maybe the Warfield 1980 run? Anyone remember that?
I don't remember that one, but I can think of a couple that are jammed out in the beginning due to Bobby's mic being out/off: Cedar Falls, IA 2/5/78 (DP 18) is one of my favorite Samsons; and Springfield, MA (03.24.85).
Grateful Dead are giving songs away, and free shipping.
I had the wrong decade on this one took me a while to find it. But I got it. Sounded like an outdoor show, so that narrowed it.
Thanks David and everyone else involved in bringing this to us.
I remember this version from a tape that I heard one morning while prepping to open a fancy pancy grocery store (The CEO is definitely a 1%-er and I don't like his politics & policies) in Palo Alto. A co-worker was playing this tape and it was the first time that I heard another GD song and I was really blown away.
Thanks Dave and GD for a great November and thanks to my fellow heads out there for making this contest a lot of fun. Hoppy Hollandaise to all!
I'm sure all comments and requests are meant with the utmost respect. Yes there are songs I'd like to hear and I even threw that out there a few songs back. Honestly though, I'm down for what ever it is that Dave wants to throw my way! I look at it like this; Songs like Passenger, Just a Little Light, Might As Well, and even Stranger (to a degree) would sometimes be songs that I'd just skip by. These versions are a nice little reminder that the band could take any given song on any given night and make it a truly beautiful experience!
Thanks Dave! You've made my November an absolute treat! Even the little curve balls you've thrown at us have been awesome!! To add to this being a wonderful day, I got my Phil & Friends tix this morning for the Sat. show! WOOOO!!! Can't wait!
for the record, I don't mean this as a knock on the people on this board. You've all been a lot of fun to chat with! Thanks guys!
If we all post "ENCORE!!!" can we get one on 12/1?????
There are three browsers playing Sampson, and the stereo blastin CC ryder from another hot concert and I am like ok gonna guess this cause the way the last word there in the sentence from the chorus is being sung. that seems a bit different. I will be thrilled if I got the year right.
Maybe next time I will give it the old college try.
I was way off on this! Off day, I'm in another galaxy today. But hey, I pulled it together and got it.
And I'm definitely all for Jerry for the last two days! We'll see...
I know I've posted this a couple of times already but may not get a chance to do it again before this gig is up so...........
David, Thank you so much! it's been a blast!
And I also thank everyone else. The young, the old and the in between.
Love the banter, the cryptic and not so cryptic clues, the confidently right answers as well as the confidently wrong answers etc. etc. etc.
I'm Thankful and Grateful all at the same time.
Have a Great 2012!
EEEGS
My wife was eight months pregnant with our son so she spent most of the weekend under the hoses they had running in the back. She still had a blast though. I'm sure our son was jamming inside as well.
and I did not even bring my bicycle
which would not have been a bad idea since my rental car got stolen
I gotta go but my friend he can stick around
arriba!
Agreed. Nice to have another west coast show represented. Always loved the California shows. Thank you.
Cool song...finaly a west coast outdoor show.
always loved it when they played So. Cal.
and yes, let's get some great Jerry jams...dew, eyes, but would love a long terrapin...the whole suite.
UMMM....we've now had every song Weir ever did with the GD?!?! How about making the last two days super special and give us what we all want JERRY!!!!!!!!
How 'bout a early-mid '80s EYES, BE Women, Bertha, Dew, Wheel, or Stella Blue. Or for that matter make the last two days multiple segues.....BUT please bring on some JG tunes
I agree and second that emotion. Enough Bobby already! And enough 80s and 90s for that matter. Grateful just the same, thanks for the jams.
David, it's been great. Our humble thanks. Got one word for ya:Eyes!
Maybe tomorrow we'll wake up to find that we are the eyes of the world, when the nuthatch discovers the morning dew has turned to frost. Wednesday, an other one?
Doh! >> Deadlist needs to update it's PITB timing for 11/15/72.
Ripped that Beast
God knows He
Killed Him Dead!
Oh yeah>>>>>>>>>>>
This is 28th day stuff for me, xo.
But not for much longer, lol.

True true miss Brent so much,

Thank you for this nugget!
I am trying to find this one,
thank you for the hints I just may have it.
Nice prize....Out in the Westchester Town!
Ya'll have a good 28'er...with a 7:05>>>>
And hey don't forget to include some CROWD>>>>
The Grateful Dead were a Mutual Band with the Crowd!

There is a trippy vocal anomaly at 1:36 on the soundboard recording of this show. This should be a dead give-away.
Bob butchers the 3rd line of the song too. Keyboards, the lead guitar, and Jerry's shaky back-up vocals can place this one in/around a certain year. Listening to the fist 2 minutes of a few shows and you should find what you are looking for.
I thought it was me. I remember hearing things like that during shows, but I'm too old for all that now.
doing some reminiscing and listening...
even though there is no soundboard recording
i pick for tomorrow 5-20-95 vegas :
last time-would be something-morning dew
give it a listen if you got time
now that would be something, that really would be something
miss ya jerry
and I was near about 5 other people on the floor who shared the birthday. It was awesome. That morning dew pretty much saved the week-end. And the motto for my crew, for the whole week-end, no matter what was spilled, lost, or found was "It doesn't matter..anyway."
only took 28 days but starting to get good at this
great god almighty talk to me now!
Whew! Yeah! I've been rocking the matrix with the headphones!
I was at the next run after this one but I'd never really noticed just how much Brent carried in the band back then. The guy was almost unstoppable and I really wish he was still around.
There's no way I'll get any sleep for good while yet so l'm going to make a nostalgia run through a few more shows. Someone made regular coffee after dinner instead of decaf but didn't bother to mention it to anyone else. I knew I was in trouble when I felt my scalp start to tingle after the first sip but by then it was too late.
Shave my head! That's a weight off my mind for today!
Gotta go to bed on this one. Not getting the Green Sticks clue yet today. I'm tired though. I'll give it a crack in the evening. Nice tune though...only two more left though. Crap!
