was a few months off and happened to stumble in the right direction
didn't take too long. but if i had gone the other way...
still sitting in on this show. the toes keep a tappin, so why leave
the following song is worth a listen
about the track following today's choice track. Love this version!
yep. excellent version of that song! love it.
happy to get today's song, but sure would've been cool to have a double dose today with those two back to back.
Thanks for making it fun. There are some nice intros. to this song in the early days for sure. I like how they would just ease into it sometimes.
It was cool to hear all the different nuances to the intro to this tune. Sometimes Bill did a simple pickup on the drums. Sometime Phil jumped in right away on bass. Sometimes he paused & let the main riff play before joining in. Here's another great show I'm listening to now. The date of this show would make for an easy hint. It's too early to just hand it out on a silver platter. LOL. Can't take away the fun.
look awfully familiar
Agree w/ wilfredtjones and WildBill29, they sure had some lovely intros to this song, easing into it slowly as they do here. Bob has some nice, unique inflections in his vocal delivery in this version. Beginning of 2nd verse gets bungled though, which is a big clue. Keith's piano accompaniment is gorgeous. I really enjoy the peak at the end here; they really climb the Wall and ultimately scale it!
Went in the wrong direction today and took a journey. Found it eventually though. The closing jam in first set is stupendous and worth a listen as is the song which directly follows BTW (as previously mentioned).
I agree. End of set is great & the song following today's is a fine version. The "middle" type arrangement of that song maybe?
Goin back home that's what he's gonna do!
Really like this year....sound is always right in your face, but I have to say that I struggled matching this one up correctly with the recordings that are out there! Took me an hour, but pretty sure I finally got it.
Has anyone else noticed? No repeat years so far this year! My goal is too listen to every show on each day, so I hope they keep this up....like my own 30 Trips Around The Sun! Really enjoying it so far....many thanks to TPTB!!!
they have already have 2 riders and bt winds????
oh...repeat years..my bad
anyone else notice when you stream shows on the archive that the 'gap' between tracks is now much smaller and in some cases i am barely noticing the momentary skip between songs. it used to be much more pronounced. anyone else hear the same?? it's saturday!
Took me quite a bit longer today than it has any other day except day 1. Pick one end of the string or the other and hope for the best. I'm 9 for 10 so far.
The end kinda tricked me as I heard notes for a combo that simply isn't there.
I mislead myself thinking I heard the transition into Mississippi Half-step at the end (not really a hint since they played that combo maybe two times?) Too much fun this year.
Yeah, the final second or two of the 6:46 appears to be a cut then the unmistakeable 'da-da-da-da' of MHSUT.
May Lighting Strike this time because I nailed it again, always fun researching these little gems, listened to the Banter from Cameron Indoor 73 (it is not that show) and my feet never hurt at a concert, come back steppin' like to walk on air, always.
Got it on my first try today. Gonna be a good day!
This run would have made a great box set, but that was no longer possible even before today's offering.
Rhino could release it regardless of what shows have surfaced in the past, they could push it LOL
WALL OF SOUND ~ EYES OF THE WORLD !!!!!!
That reminds me I gotta finish up 5.21.74
it's not Miss 1/2.........they cut the tuning after BTW and no, it's not 1/2.....
out of this song! I had no idea. I also was running around to Hell and gone finding this one for some reason(maybe it was the MHSUT tease at the end of the track???) Bobby's lyrical flub up about the "city of blues" was the key for me. Now I can get on with my Saturday. Thanks Dave!
Check out the Charlie Miller
and we will buy it!
A very professional recording. Super separation of instruments (maybe a little too panned but no not complaining). The Phil bits in the beginning did it for me. After a loooong search. I thought maybe it was so crystal clear that it could have been oh... from another classic year noted for GD live recordings.
I took the official clue too literally and started a coupe of years earlier than this version ... man, did they play a lot of BTWs that year! Finally figured things out and was lucky enough to find a ton of gems during my exploits on this lovely Saturday ...
Is there any way to get the songs from that year? I have 2015 and 2017-18 (so far), but not that year. Thanks very much. I'm enjoying every song and appreciate the efforts of all involved.
I grabbed my copies from there
mr.charlie.tol… Thanks for stopping by! :-)
I have them all back to 2010, all neatly zipped with all the tags and info filled in. I would love to share them but I'm not sure where the best place to do so would be.
Do you have a dropbox account that you could create a link with, because I would love to have the years 2010 - 2014.
Thank you so SO much!
This song of Bobby's has LONG been an all-time favorite of mine. I cherished it when he sang it this summer in Boulder. I think my little jukebox ears picked right up on this one. Fingers crossed, while I make a bright wish-wish-wish next to Jerry's picture. :o)))))))))))))
