30 Days of Dead November 11
Keith is playing a Yamaha CP-70 electric grand piano on this Sugaree...he played it from September 1977 - February 1979. Brent played one for most of 1982.
It's (nearly) three o'clock, and time to rock... dum dee dum dee dumm dumm... When the moon shines down and I lie on me bed,
I can always feel the groove.
WOOHOO Just got it. but submitted wrong answer earlier in the day. Clever hint.
Check your private messages! Peace!
I found today’s song fast as lightning but stumped by All Girl Asian Band hint! Today I started listening to the song a few times all the way through before searching. Clues within today’s song made it easy but without the set-opener hint I would probably still be searching. I remember Sugaree opener Oakland Aud New Years Run ‘79.
Haha, that helps to confirm the choice. But way too out there for me to be used to find the song. To paraphrase Mike Tyson.. " I tip my head to that one."
After listening to a lot of the "Sugaree" openers, this one is smokin'..
The "[a]ll girl Asian band" hint was so incredibly brilliant. I came down to two shows that I was picking between and this hint sealed it for me. I could not figure it out and my 15 year old son came in the room and had the answer. What a smart, smart clue (and kid). It truly is all in the numbers.
I'm clueless. Please explain. There's an asian girl band called Patrick Gymnasium? Burlington? Vermont?
I don't get it.
A day later so it is ok to let you know:
There is an Asian female rock band called the 5,6,7,8's.
The date of the show was 05-06-78.
Wu? Who? Great Asian band clue! Right under the nose and then.... oh yeah! Like that movie, Birth William (or maybe I am a day late & a dollar short with that reference).
Although this "hint" didn't get me to today's answer, it nevertheless had this fish hooked just like I was after hearing my first Franklin's till I figured it out. Cryptic as hell, yet absolutely spot on.
Thanks for the brain exercise.
What an amazing show! I've never heard a first set as on fire as this one! It starts off hot and just continues!
i aM GLad for the Asian girl band clue as trying to hunt down the exact dates where Bobby played slide was getting annoying. rest of the show is keeping me haPPY SO Far. on another note, listened to 7/13/89 today as it arrived ayer. good fun.
Like what actress.
Consider it a numbers game, baby! All in the numbers...
It's Affirmed that the Asian Girl Band clue odd but clever! Thanks to any Vets out there!
From the first note these folks knew they were in for a special night.
See you all at the Juuuuubillleeee!
At least now I know I ain’t dosing. Today’s is easy enough but i am upset not to have seen the Asian Girl group clue.
read all comments every day, dude!
Careful with that eraser :)
Patrick Danville? is that a clue?
Hoping for 3 in a row but not sure so had to guess.
Happy Veterans Day to all.
Great. I got the Sugaree, now I have to spend the rest of the day figuring out the Asian girl band clue. Maybe we should have a 30 days of the clues contest.
from under-the-radar years. Thanks again Dave!
Just found this one.....
You have to explain the All Girls Asian Band... Dont need it today as not to spoil everyone's search .. but tomorrow...
November 10th was stunned by November 11th after November 11th hit one “from the parking lot” in November 10th. If you get a chance, check out the jam from Scarlet into Fire at November 11th’s venue a score less 16 years later.
I'd listen to the scarlet>fire from a score less 15.
Ugh. You got me. 23 days shy of 15, but I knew I blew it the moment I hit save. Back to my corner I go. Til the morning comes...
I got today's show but have no idea what you guys are talking about. Enlighten us tomorrow, OK?
Turned it over and over... trying to figure out the clue... then... ***Japanese Girl Band*** ???!!!! Slowly I turn, inch by inch... As Ben Grimm might have said... 'It's solving time'!!
Five days before my first show. I recognized the year immediately. Nailed it on the first listen. Thanks, Dave! Great way to start the weekend!
shake it sugaree
happy birthday #56 to me
thanks Dave for one of my favorites
with a clue i can work with
Got the show, but don't understand the All girl Asian band clue. Will be tuning in tomorrow for an explanation, feels like something i should know.
I have been on here for years, but I signed up today just so I could post a comment. The "Asian girl group" clue is the greatest clue I have ever seen posted on 30DoD. That was brilliant!
Seems i’m missing all the fun.
LOL. Love the Asian girl band clue. For the people that get it, they'll be cracking up all day. Great movie too.
As most of his are! My favorite, is one he wrote early on in his career...”True Romance”! Director’s Cut is a must on this movie! So many incredible actors in this film. The scene with Vincent Concotti (Christopher Walkin) and Clifford Worley (Dennis Hopper) is brilliant! An insanely great cast, and still my all time favorite movie! If you have never seen it, I doth highly recommend. I’m still in love with Alabama!
Being Italian, I love that whole scene where Hopper knows he's gonna get it, so he rips Walken for being Sicilian. LMAO. I haven't seen it a long time. I'll have to get the director's cut. Thanks for reminding me about that one. :)
i enjoyed that one grately. as sweet a sugaree there never was. thanks for the jam
We have an Affirmed winner today. While only containing 2 instrumental interludes, they're both scorchers. And, of course, never look a gift horse in the mouth :)
Doesn't appear that many picked up on your hint. Didn't notice it till already finding show, but good job!
Fun show here
Another excellent Garcia/Hunter song! This is a great version! Was an easy find!
Hint: All girl Asian band.
Lovin’ 30DoD! Thank you, Dave!
Not to be figured out by just any schlemiel
Took me a while to figure out the clue - it was wonderfully bizarre and elusive!
I figured out the show way before I figured out this hint. Then suddenly it all made sense. Very good!
This deserves immediate consideration for the 30 Days Hint Hall of Fame. Well played, sir.
I see what you did there. Impressive.
I didn't get the all-girl asian band hint either. How about all-guy phab 4? Anyway, this version smokes. Love Bob's slide work on this one. Grate show opener.
i got the right show, but your hint doesnt make any since to me lol
