30 Days of Dead November 14
fine to have it twice, love this song
Kinda stumbled onto this one (guess I'm a "dum dum" as the clues just went right by me) but - Dave you are right - just too good not to play. And reading the comments on the archive was entertaining, sounds like this was a one of a kind, and a real gem of a show. if only...
What a gem! I love to hear a good jam from this time period (~);}.
Hey now, just saw that yesterday's winner is from Glen Ellyn. Justin, if you see this PM me; I'm from Wheaton! Would love to talk with a local head.
Congrats on your win!
Like you didn't know that already.....
Even a Dum Dum like me could navigate these clues
it all came together for me when I heard the 1st notes of the next tune. Turns out those 2 were paired quite often so the clues really helped the fool.(me)quite a jam at the end there - so very worldly...
I didn't immediately recognize Bobby's vocals in this one. Or maybe it was Phil? Really low and kind of Frankenstein like. Or is that Frankensteeen.....???
Well, well, well I guess there's only one thing to do about it.
First time I've heard this show. Love the "polka" round clue.
Pin pointed right away & got it on my first try. Many people were divided before this tour. Not sure if they practiced every night or even if they were ready.
I'll bet a bunch of us felt like heroes when we figured this one out.
I feel liberated.
We were in a small cafe, you could here the guitars play.
And a monkey and a plywood violin
Oh honey it was paradise.
Don't forget, hire the vet
He hasn't had much fun yet
What a time to be there!!!!!!
what a great jam! love that grand piano!! :)
Fun clues, kinda threw me off a bit, didn't help me find the right show but after the fact very amusing :) How did I not see it?
Got it after I figured which show...
Took me the first 1:31 seconds to confirm, attended this one.
Don't Tell Me.
Anyone else notice the quotation marks around today's selection? That a first for this November, but now that I see it, I believe the previous years of 30 DoD had the quotation marks as well.
I think that's a clue.
between full organ sound, klinky keys, and the guitars. I wish they would have played GSET, as I'm sure it would have got a great pop in one spot.
And don't forget the bass! Phil's playing on the intro is exquisite, everything tasty about the syncopation and surprising accentuation he brings to the rhythm.
And there's definitely a Stranger tease in the jam. Very fun!
I heard some teasings of Stranger later on in today's song.
Those 2 tunes had a similar groove.
john?? membership?? anyone?? buehler???
On 6/23/93 John Wayne Bobbitt had his membership revoked, when he was “clipped” by his wife, Lorena Bobbitt!
On this day, John Wayne Bobbit has his, um, member, cut off by his wife. Thus, he "lost his membership".
Great jam. And only one choice. Thanks. I needed that in my life.
Some Great Dead shows in the 70's 80's and '90s on this date!
After seeing what Dave was throwing in the bullpen, I thought this was going to be a tough at bat. Knocked it out of the park on the second pitch - a fastball right down the pipe and into my wheelhouse.
Not going to offer any clues today as it would probably be too obvious (and the clues offered below are sufficiently obscure)!
Just gotta “polka” around.
Clue: Meanwhile...back home, the dancing gets dire, at the Uptown Theater.
As I came up the mountain, out of the misty valley into the sun. The fire on the cattle range, the potatoes in the ashes, the boathouse floating in the lake. The Southern Cross.
I stink like gasoline.
