Yesterday (Brown Eyed) was real tough. This one, not so much.
agreed especially since this combo was only played twice
Found this one all-too quickly, sort of proud of myself at how well I pinpointed the general area of the date. Thanks for the sweet tunes Dave!
spooky how clever this choice is...if you're like me, you might miss it, until it's all you have left to try.
This one was too easy, even I figured it out. BTW folks, people are dropping major clues lol...………
Can't Trick Me on This One! Treats on Me! Now, Back to Work............
Thanks for the extra clues my friends. Hopefully I got it correct.
Never thought I'd see my name there. It's pretty sweet to be picked, Thanks Dead Net.
Congrats!! Still waiting my turn...
thanks for the easy start to my Monday morning, I will definitely be treating myself to this whole show...
I remember another song from this show was picked and stumped me a couple years back, as the setlist is incomplete in one of my go-to online resources and the searches don't bring the show up. Gotta tighten up!
It's almost scary how good these early versions are.
The year came to me first. It can only be one year. And then I listened for instruments.
A lava clad kit.
Sticks wick pod.
This one is nice for a scary bus ride to work. Too dark outside and can’t wait to be shone the light.
To get the answer without listening to a note of music, but there it is. Thanks for the lesson Jerry.
It was like taking candy from a baby today.
Listened to brown-eyed and thought fall of '79. Then I somehow missed it. First big failure in a while. Mercury went full retrograde yesterday, I blame it on that. Besides I had worked and was really tired.
I don't want to spoil anything...
The song sequence was obviously a huge giveaway. But I think only the second set has been officially released
I've had the poster for this show for more than 30 years.
Well unless I'm totally missing something there is only one choice based upon the give-away clues below. This is my first time guessing without even listening to the choice. Will have to go back and do that now, even though I've heard this 2nd set before.....
Might have made it too easy... Jerry talking to the crowd....that's one way to narrow it down... Haha
A: The number of times I've listened to part of this show.
to keep your feet on the ground in finding this one. One might say, you've "got no chance of losin' this time!" What a fantastic storyteller that Robert Hunter is. Thanks for everything Bob!
When I looked at the set lists with these three.... I only ran across this combo twice. Unless I missed some.
I double checked and you are correct per my sources.
I find twice as well once in 71 and once in 72
Super clean and the playing is tight. Like going back in time.
A real gift today, classic songs well played and recorded and, after that slog yesterday, the only time I've gotten it on the first try (not hard!).
As to these "leftovers" - could a full release of this set be on the way?? Yea!
If you think you found the right show, search for photos of the venue, and then it is easy to see why some of the remarks made during the banter prior to the band playing Deal were what they were (as heard through archive source, not today's selection's partial banter provided by Dave and Company). Are we having fun yet?
I contacted Mary, the web host, about the 11second gap in Bertha @3:59 on Day 17. There's not a fix for it. This is her response after checking with Dave,
"We heard back from Dave, and long story short, the source is that way."
I contacted her a previous year about another glitch and if my mem'ry serves me well, my understanding is that Dave only uses the source and does not pull recordings from other sites we listen to, like archives.org. So that's that.
Though I'll miss those 11 seconds, I'll happily enjoy all the rest of it!
The Charlie Miller SBD is Killer and doesn't have the gap @ 3:59
This one didn't take much time wondering which show to choose. Say it once again now, If a man among you, Got no sin upon his hand, Let him cast a stone at me, For playing "30 Days of Dead". Well I got no chance of losin' this time.
...and I still sing the Sweet Suzie in my head for every Loser...
...because these songs are so common, but I narrowed it down pretty quickly. I love the PITBs from this period--just starting to touch on that psychedelic essence that was later to be delved into so thoroughly. I wonder if each successive version is slightly longer than the previous?
First time i got it on the first click (I think I remember that right). Anyways, enough hints throughout here...happy World Toilet Day everyone!
When I came on the site earlier, there was a tab for previous days. I cant find it HELP!
make sure you scroll to bottom of page
seems like they're excited every year to set this 30 days thing up, but nobody thinks it through to the point of having useful web navigation on each page, nor attaching metadata to the actual mp3s so they list band and song. Sloppy.
If they tagged the mp3s, the contest would be completely pointless, no?
