30 Days of Dead November 24
I'm looking for the 30 Days of Dead from earlier years. Can someone direct me to where I might find the downloads?
Was looking in the wrong places. On the up side listen to many Big beautiful Terrapin's today !!!!! Very Grateful !!!!!
In the shadow of the moon, was I, until some of the clues took me home. So thankful for this 30 days, my first! And thankful for this community.
Always a pleasure to see live.
Pranksters! Always pushing it a little Further to keep us sharp.
And once again proving that things aren't always what they seem.
Keep your heads on a swivel out there today kids!
They can release many things from this year that would please me. Audio & video. Bring it on please! This was nice. But boy would they take Terrapin & whatever came next even further in the not too distant future. I attended the next show & had a great time. Did not know about any other goings-on that occurred until later.
I haven't guessed at today's offering yet but I just had to say........
THAT JAM is so sweet I wanted to reach through this computer screen, fill up a jar with some and lap it up with a big spoon.
I got shut out of two shows over the years - just could not get a ticket. This show was one of them. The other 9/18/87.
Once you figure out this one - may I recommend listening to the opener from the previous night. It's a smokin' version of a tune featured recently in 30 days.
listened to it all .... true dat
What an epic jam to wake up to after Thanksgiving. I love the story behind this one. Robert Hunter writing the lyrics during a lightning storm. Jerry came up with the melody while driving across a bridge. And when they got together, they created one of the biggest crowd pleasers for many years to come. While listening to so many versions, it was fun to hear the audience reaction to key moments of the performance. Thanks Dave!!
May I have another!
Just wanted to say thanks. Didn't get on yesterday due to cooking & hosting commitments, so just hearing yesterday's selection today... gorgeous! What a treat.
but the door suddenly flew open ... this is one of my favorite songs ... and a fine rendition at that.
The Charlie Miller SBD has some mislabeled tracks -- I also thoroughly enjoyed the 11+ minute 'Crowd & Tuning' (-;
Today was a real challenge. Sneaky Dave! Listened to a lot of great Terrapins. Love that 11 minutes of crowd and tuning. But in the long run, I guess it doesn't matter. Hope everyone survived Thanksgiving. Onward and Furthur!
One of the clues is a Dead giveaway. I'm not complaining cause none of us has to read the comments before researching, but it kind of makes it too easy for the masses. The 30 Days is still an Inspiration, moving me brightly...
syncs up real pretty like. i'm not much for giving hints but a fun fact : i heard the next three performances of this awesomeness. now that was a good coupla weeks, i'll tell you. i remember like it was just yesterday... -que flashback montage-
I don't know if it's intentional or not, but Dave's clue today lends some insight into what other song was played this set. I was all over the map w/ this one, mainly because the keyboards and keyboard vox were hard to discern for me at first. However, Jerry gets a little ahead of himself after "hold away despair" which was a nice little musical clue.
This post-Terrapin jam is one of the best I have ever heard! Lovin' it!
Thanks for the Terrapin! I believe this is the first one since 30 Days of Dead began in 2010!
There was a great Estimated>Terrapin combo from 6-28-1985 given to us in 2014. Just listened to it again. Ahhhhh!!!....
Thanks again, Dave & Co! Great choice!
This show also featured songs that would appear seven months later on what Bill Kreutzmann called 'a Frankenstein of an album' in his book 'Deal: My Three Decades of Drumming, Dreams, and Drugs With the Grateful Dead'
This isn't a hint. It tells people which show it is. I had already found it, but this does pretty much ruin the game for those who look to the comnents for hints.
Sometimes it's perfectly ok to ignore the hint :-p
whether you judge it to be too easy of a hint or too hard of a hint is immaterial.
there are no rules here regarding leaving adequate hints. there are no hint police or board moderators to remove hints deemed illegal.
I remember several years back when some folks were leaving the exact answers in the comments section. The exact answer is when it is not a hint.
... and just figuring out the hint took me a while. It wasn't a Dead giveaway by any means.
Thought it would be a tough hint... it won't let me delete the comment...
You can overwrite it. I'll do it on a comment below this.
edit all my comments/replies either, just some. Oh well, it's not the end of the world, don't worry about it. Be safe on shopping day!! :)
squeaked in yesterdays with thirty minutes left to go. forgot i get to do it all over again. come to find a terrapin! nice
