30 Days of Dead November 28
------ TURN OFF FUTURE & FORM -----
It's with deep appreciation and gratitude for you, the fans, that we'll be giving away an MP3 download every day this month. That's 30 days of unreleased Grateful Dead tracks from the vault, selected by Dead archivist and producer David Lemieux! Intrigued? We're also going to put your knowledge to the test and give you the chance to win some sweet swag from the Dead.
Guess the venue and date correctly and you'll be automatically entered to win our Grand Prize - a prize pack featuring our 2014 releases, merch, and more.
despite all the clues i went with 10.14.67 on alligator, since the archive version just didn't match up for 11/10 (which i think is actually 11/11). oh well, was a good time looking last night. like the version from 3.16.68 at the carousel, during the rhythm sticks part someone is scratching along on their guitar string, sounds pretty cool. anyway, ya got me again
this show rocks it, lots of energy, get yer goonies out, give it a listen in your free time. would make a good release.
can this be true i see only two slots left in my 30 days log sheet. didn't we just start this?
Happy thanksgiving !
I too picked 10-14 because I knew 11-10 and 11-11 were so close. But, in my gut I was pretty sure I wasn't right. That was a real curve ball and my first strike.
This one is pretty straight forward- Fooled yesterday!
As always, thanks for these.
Just pointing out, this is another 192kbps, not 320.
Three in a row at 192. Not that I am complaining at all...
Just past the hour of midnight and figured this one out pretty darn quickly. Quite unlike that Alligator > Caution which wasn't on LMA. Sneaky buggers...
Right? I never would have gotten the right answer. The official hint actually threw me off way more than it helped me. I had guessed 3/29/68 which there isn't any audio available for that portion of the show and considering the hint about the studio release and the fact about the weird Bob lyric that from what I had read might have revolved around the Carousel Ballroom venue and was also in the 2/14/68 show I figured it was a safe guess because of the hint. Oh well... I tried my best. That one was a tuffie. Somebody got it though.
I, too, guessed 3/29/68 for many of the same reasons. I had managed to nail the Cream Puff War and the RR Blues using similar logic. If it didn't match any of the available versions, and 1/26 and 1/27 were doubtful, it must be the one from an unavailable set list right? Oh well. It ruined my perfect record this year, but I'd say 29-1 is still admirable.
Today's answer was a bit smoother. That's nice for this day. I would imagine most would be too busy for this little game today. Have a happy holiday!
