If you happen to have all these show's from '87 and they all sound this good. It would be a huge up-grade to what's out there. ;-)
Thanks to eeegs
and to arm
for their clues
srangler's clue is fun. All I'll say is that I once had season tix, which is a great story!
While searching for the source for WLAF My dogs are beginning to bark and the hounds are howling. Who'd a thunk?
Congrats Hornsby! Good Work.!
There are several fun hints below for WLAF. Just connect them all, and you might then tip your hat to the new constitution.
now its your guys' turn.
If you can decipher the hints, you can save yourself a bunch of clicks - big thanks to srangler for the 'hot' tip, it weren't no fluke :)
This is one whale of a show
now I have a bunch of new shows to listen to! Yeehaw!
Pretty hard think of it as playing a hot 7's slot machine. At least I'm enjoying the Ride! yetay
These seem to be more difficult to figure out in my opinion.
Every year in the 60's and 70's seems to have its own unique, easily distinguishable sound. Not so much in the 80's. At least to me.
Well, I was saying the last couple days that they were giving us layups on these songs. Took me an hour and a half to find this one today! Shoulda kept my mouth shut. Found some real good West LA's though.....
my 4 year old pulling at my arm isn't helping
the clock is ticking......
I hear you man. I think in my case it requires some online resources either I don't know about or am not that adept with. I may lack the level of obsession I may once have had, or maybe an attention span. Ryan above spent an hour and a half listening to versions of West L.A. Fadeaway. Good song, great band, but life's too short for that.
Well to be fair I only had to listen to about the first 10 seconds of the song to tell if it was the correct version or not w/ Jerry's false start on this one. But the problem was I skipped right over it and then had to go back. Once I put in 30min, 45min, an hour, etc.... I had a hard time giving up.
Searching and no luck yet
ok, so i'm guessing it's here somewhere, but where do i go to find "30 Days" tracks i've missed this year?
never mind--found it!
Do we get an extra entry if we were at this show?
I think I am right, and would love to see a trend of site members winning. Congrats Hornsby on yesterday.
Just when I thought I had gone too far, there it was. I guess I should start working today.
Maybe not the first time in the last few years, but the first time I personally have ever noticed.....
One of the regular posters has won!
funny thing was i didn't even notice i was too busy sifting through shows then i saw my name before i went to bed two hours later and was blown away. couldn't believe it myself
smilin smilin smilin for sure
What did you win?
i have no idea. i don't know how this year is working as far as prizes go. reading the rules leads me to believe i am entered into the grand prize drawing,? don't see mention of daily prizes, but always thought anyone whow go a correct guess was entered. waiting to see if i get contacted by anyone. Truth be told i won once in the first year due to a technicality- i was the first to enter my guess and they had the wrong venue for the date and i reported that to the powers that be and they rewarded me by making me the winner! those were the days when they gave away unsold merch like cheeseboards and whatever was lying around, i won a xxl buttondown oxford, navy blue with a small stealie embroidered on the front pocket. pretty snazzy, and only a little big i'm an xl, but never received my prize, maybe i didn't do the paperwork properly i figure. but anyway i really don't care about the prize, although the grand prize would be sweet, like last year eurpoe box set, nice. that being said WOOHOO I WON!! look at me!! :) very cool
I always avoid the comments until after I have found it myself. I don't understand why people post hints when this is a contest. The fun for me is in finding it on my own. But, to each his own I suppose. Happy trails!
I also love and enjoy the challenge. Sometimes we all get stuck though, and a little hint can help. Not everyone has their ear tuned to pick out what show or year it is. The hints this year are not too obvious either. I agree, it is a contest, but its a Grateful Dead music contest. I say share the love as long as you'r not just posting the answer. And if you don't want the help, as you already said, just ignore the comments until after you make your guess.
Sometimes, what seems like a hint is really just a wrong trail, because the person dropping the hint has gotten it wrong!
I knew the exact year right away on this. I think its because this version has a little pep in it.
I really hope this whole show gets released someday!
Were you the one lost a while back??
Same here! Got it on 2nd show I tried!
than what we have already, how about a release of this source? :-)
WTG hornsby! I think they should give you a 90s Bruce show for a prize...but that's just me...
Nice to see an active poster win. It almost feels more real somehow, if that makes sense...
Weeee 30 days, my most favorite holiday of all! Happy 30 days of dead brothers and sisters!
couldn't agree more with all you say, although i'm still looking. always liked the sound bruce brought to the band.
seems the "hints" are more like factoids...they certainly don't always help >.<
Figured by the roar of crowd recognition alone, it wasn't a super early version. Then thought about crowds some more and narrowed it down to a region. Finally started searching, and the false start confirmed when I'd found the right one.
Good place to go with a whole pack of friends for a show. :)
to say it was the first one I clicked on! The little clue here was enough...thanks for the legwork!
not hearing what im looking for and heard a lot already. now i'm second guessing and feel like i misses it. one thing i hate is backtracking. especially with so many shows. Due to the lack of comments and it's 1:25 i guess others are busy at work as well, now i don't feel so bad.
