Winterland Listening Party
Pre-orders for Winterland June 1977: The Complete Recordings have begun!
To celebrate we're streaming a series of Listening Parties with select tracks from each night. Each party will last about 5 days, and then we'll roll out another set of songs from the next night. Here's the latest installment with two amazing performances from June 8th:
As good as they come from 1977, which is to say as good as Sugaree ever was throughout the entirety of the Grateful Dead's performing career. As magical as any of the versions from the May 1977 tour.
It's All Over Now 6/8/77
A laid back groove defines this great version of what was becoming a staple of Grateful Dead sets since the Fall of 1976.
(player takes a minute to load - but it's worth the wait!)
These are just what I need on a Monday morning!

I have one word to say about the Winterland June shows , ss make it 2 words Fucking Beautiful, the Grateful Dead were simply the best band put on this great earth.
Extra Cool! So happy to have this feature on the site. Keep 'em coming. The entire collection should be beyond to listen to...and I do remember one night.....
I didn't waste any time grabbing the Fillmore West 69 box set which is now a collectors item. Winterland 73 was a mind blower, and there are some real hi-lites in these 77 shows too. I'll buy most of these box sets when they are released; because it's the whole enchillada...
Wonderful Sound :)
Nice piano runs by Keith in j s
Id love to see sometime a box set , or a massive release of music from 1970 , or 1972 . Many strong and powerful runs in those years /
* The Samson is a delight . Really jammed out and all around perfectly played ; the strong jamming reminded me of the DP 18 Samson / The DP 18 is the King of all Samsons .. ( :
Sounds really great, can't wait for my copy to arrive. Jam on America, thanks David, keep it coming.

Holy Jerome John Garcia! Samson and Delilah was pure fire. I'm surprised the recording equipment wasn't damaged on the beginning solo.Unlike anything that has ever had the pleasure of vibrating my eardrums. 77 is my favorite year, as I'm sure it is most other DeadHeads, and I'm sure this will supplement and reinforce my love for 77. I also think Winterland has something to do with it, too. Can't wait!!!!!!!!
