Its great to see Jerry so young and so vital just kicking back talking...he is so human...I can see how people were drawn to him...He is so cool and unassuming...very comfortable with who is is at that moment....I never met the guy and I miss him...i can't imagine the hole it left in peoples lives of who he did meet...Bless you Jerry!~!!!!!
Who is in the room with Jerry -- anyone know??
...is the one you see in this interview. So thoughtful, inquisitive and curious. He was a match for anyone in a conversation and he loved to talk to people about a lot of different kinds of things. He was pretty well read and had a great native intelligence. So intuitive and artistic as well, so much more than just a great guitar player. This is the guy I miss.
.....all the years combine.....
Jjerry is boviously not some guy who can plays a guitar loud and is half eaten up with the drugs or the concert scene.
Naive like a fox eh?
God bless him!
Where's the Scarlet>Fire from? Smoking all around...
Well. Theres' the expression 'Unless you have something nice to say, don't say anything'. But I don't know. With this vid Jerry says he's been doing shows for 10 years & many of those times he was dosed. Well..he sounds it. Prob. by then he was just very accustomed to people reacting "real deep" to whatever opinion he might've expressed on something. Lets face it; Jerry was more 'Wow Man' than 'Specifically lets try to get down to the meat & potatoes of something'. Question: do you think there was ever a time in jerry's life when he 'was'nt' casual? I know I'm knocking him. But some distance has passed. Either way, when he was on this earth with us he IMO was a man-of-action. 'Players only love you when they're playing': that was Jerry. Just an insanely, different life. A person, if any that just can't be pidgeon-holed. Lessons to be learned from the Man. & of course not all of them good (some really just the opposite). But him & the Dead just defied the odds time & again. Like all the members of the Dead, just awesome. So I started out criticizing the guy, but (you know how it is)..it's Jerry 'If I Had The World To Give' Garcia! Who did'nt love him? I know I did. So to the Heads reading this I apologize for being an analyzing critic.
His life was gentle; and the elements
So mixed in him, that Nature might stand up,
And say to all the world, "This was a Man!"

Was that Peter Fonda wearing the shades?
That was fascinating, thanks so much for making the interview available. I miss the guy so much! Question: any one know when and where this was filmed?
"A monkey fucking a football?" Amazing.
Love how unfazed Jerry is when asked if hes ever come while playing
