This show has been released it's entirety as Dave's Picks Volume 24 on 1 November 2017. Totally worth releasing this show.

    Prarie Biscuit
I just found a Prairie Biscuit album released in 1979 from a friend's garage here in San Francisco. I didn't know they are now a Dead cover band! I digitized the audio from my turntable and put the album up on eBay along with a bunch of other Dead records that I have doubles of. Search for seller "jknapper" - they will be up on April 8th and the auctions will last 7 days.

I think this was my first show!
I lived nearby and somehow managed to be an usher for this show. I remember this lady, Mrs. Bell, was in charge of the usher staff and a buddy of mine got me and my date in for this show. We had to wear a coat and tie!! We had to be in the theatre early, so we got to watch the sound check. Bobby just reamed out the sound crew!! At that point, I did not know who this guy was - just cursing out the sound guys!! Later, of course, it all became quite clear.... Frickin Bob Wear!!! Also, had brief encounters with Bill Graham in the empty theatre before the show... He was brusque and busy... but at least stopped to chat with me and my als for a few minutes before the doors opened. I remember the Wall of Sound - all the tie-dyed amps... and the show itself was AMAZING... I've never been quite the same since... even with coat and tie (no tie-dye) I was whirling and swiriling to this music. Pig Pen was there, Jerry was brilliant - everything about this show blew my mind and started me on this journey which continues to this day. I listen almost 24/7 to the Dead channel on XM radio - love the talk show on Sundays... Anyway - was 19 years old at my first show... now almost 58 and have never lost my enthusiasm for the band. I play bass and sing and get together with my old Dead cover band, "Prairie Biscuit' a couple times a year to play our favorite tunes here in Chico... we still have a following after almost 35 years!!! Nice to be here with y'all... will check back! Kim
