Week of March 18-24, 2019
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have music from 1969, 1987, and 1989.
Our first selection this week is one lonnnnngggg track, Turn On Your Lovelight from 12/20/69 at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, the Dead’s penultimate show there.
Next up is the start of the second set from 3/26/87 in Hartford, my first Grateful Dead show. From this mighty fine, life-changing, high energy show, we have China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider>Looks Like Rain>He's Gone.
Lastly this week is the start of the second set from 12/10/89 at the Great Western Forum in Inglewood, CA, where we have Jack Straw> China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider, Man Smart (Woman Smarter). This was the Dead’s final show at the Forum.
Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.
