Didn't know the music real well, but it didn't matter that much. Bromberg was fun, McGuin, Clark and Hillman were uninspired, and it seemes to me that the clouds broke just as the Boys came on stage. I prefer to remember it that way. Recall many other things: Brother at the gate shouting "the next revolution will not be televised," standing at the back with my friends who seemed not to want to brave the crowd - from there ever after I would strive to be up close. Drove in my favorite Datsun pickup, while my friends altered their perspectives under the canopy in the back. Miss all that. Agree with jeffyd; Changed my life but often wonder what kind of change it really would have made had I been 15 instead of 19. Still, lucky to have seen what I saw from that day and on down the line and feel for my students who cannot understand what it all meant and continues to mean. peace

anywone know old dead head wind dancer aka Jonathan? Was at this show and would be in his late 50's now. Traveled with the dead in the late 70's up and down the west coast.Aloha

my first show. Later than I now would have preferred, but we all find our way in, in our own way. what can I say? The first show opened my eyes and imagination. Not a particularly memorable show from a performance or set list, but as would have it in June in Portland, it rained and rained. And we created a tent city. And it was an amazing afternoon that changed me profoundly
