    Hey Pocky Way!
pivotal Brent moment...his vocals were so powerful...I think this is when I realized that permanently. Can't forget about Phil either...Tom Thumbs Blues was a serious treat.

My very first & it was a smokin' show. Got to see everyone sing that night, Tom Thumb & Hey Pocky Way. One of only two Might As Well's that I saw.

Not only was it played to absolute perfection, the set lists were right up my alley. Remember that I am a sucker for a hot first set, and this was a bullseye!Huge energy from the band and the crowd was drinking it down. And the Double Encore was a treat I did not expect. It was just one of those nights for me where every song was the one I wanted to hear at that exact moment. Cap Centre gets a bad rap due to the cops (pretty accurate unfortunately), but the band sure seemed to like it there all those years. “The Omnipotent Grateful Dead!”

The Morning Dew ranks up there with the best of 'em. The tapes rarely lie. SongsfROwn

My first show after an almost ten year hiatus. (Jobs, marriage, living in Arizona, etc., etc.) My younger brother was part of a "second generation of Dead fans", partially due to me, but a lot of influence from his prep school days, too. So, first show for me and Tim to go to. Working for an airline and got my brother a pass to fly up to the show. My brother's bragging on me in the line, waiting to get in: "Yeah, my brother's first show in 10 years, he was at RFK when they played with the Allman Brothers, saw the Wall of Sound Tour, right here at the Cap Centre". Almost immediately upon entering the arena, I found out what a flashback was well about. I'm really pretty sure that my brother didn't dose me, but in any case, I was immediately paranoid and entering that other world, where you're not sure of what is real, and what is not. So, I didn't really get into the show until after intermission, after making sure that all parts of my world were in place. It seemed that they had decided to play all of my favorites: Loser, Cassidy, Me and My Uncle, Morning Dew, and on and on. I was really glad to hear the show on XM last year. I had just turned on the channel to listen on Saturday morning, and immediately knew that it was this show. Amazing Morning Dew, as already mentioned, and double encore with Black Muddy River. What more can I say? Not a lot of music details, but it was a great sure, and if there is anything that I regret about moving to Houston, is that the dead didn't play there after 1987, I believe. I flew up to D.C. at least once a year for an RFK, or a Cap Centre show. Glad that I rediscovered the Dead, and was able to see 5 or 6 shows before the end.
