This was a really good night, the main drag was people were expecting Darkstar to fall from the rafters every other note. Tickets were available for sale at the box office, thank you for a stealth show at this point in your career Grateful Dead. The opening Help>Slip>Franklin's was really nice, and it was good to hear Same Thing on the East Coast. Bruce was really amped up in the sound and almost seemed to be the band leader for the night. Jerry had a music stand out for So Many Roads with what I guess were the lyrics for that song. The big highlights of the night were Eyes and Jack A Roe. Regardless of this night, if you can't marry Hampton at least have it as a mistress.

We were at the Omni shows and stared hearing rumors of suprise hampton shows....bolted up the highway while dealing with bosses over the phone, got to the ticket office 10 minutes before the office closed and got tickets. As we were leaving others were driving up to the coliseum and asking "Is it true?" They started running to the office when we flashed the tickets. We Loved Hampton!!! It was also our first Long,long,long way to go home...Lake

This was a bit better than the next night. My friends and I made it to the 5th or 6th row on Phil's side, and we were treated to some absolutely marvelous interaction between Jerry and Bruce during the Slipknot! as they traded licks back and forth towards the end of the jam. My friend Priscilla said "Look! It's Bobby's ass, and it's RIGHT THERE!" when he turned around and shook it like he'd sometimes do when he was playing the opening riff to one of his tunes. She was more impressed than I was.

Does anyone remember the thick fog that rolled in during the show? After the show, every time someone opened the doors to leave the building, all you heard was this chorus of "OOOHHH WOWWWW". This was an AMAZING night - loved the Hampton Sneak Attack and loved the new songs. Healy was dancing his ass off during Corina!

and boy did I need this show! Fantastic setlist (from my perspective). They played all the songs I needed to hear at a very difficult time in my life. Listening to the audience recording as I write this. Bruce was great especially on Eyes of the World!A magical evening!

Yes, I too remember the fog!! I was on the floor near a drum circle and it was an amazing site as it rose over the lights of the stage and formed steal-your-faces above the crowd! Needless to say after that the mood was set and it truly was great show.
