    good times
Drove up from Florida with my glrlfriend (now wife) for these shows. What I remember most about this one, sitting on the floor near the back, was an old hippie in the row in front of us lighting up a doobie as soon as Touch of Grey began and immediately being grabbed by a security guard and dragged out. What bullshit. But I was lucky, I guess, because I was about to light one up myself. Good show.

Anyone remember the unreal drum jam outside after the show? Was the whole street vibrating or was that just me....

    I remember the drums post…

I remember the drums post show. Everyone was banging on something. There was a big metal pole that held up a Omni sign and we were playing that thing with everything we had. Such cool sounds and vibes. One of my many favorite memories from that run.

What can I say, I guess you had to be there. This is the show where I understood. I was on the bus for the duration.

Opening night sharp; much better than last year's tour-opening stint in Atlanta. No signs of road fatigue; in fact, set one popped along from the git-go, with a rousing "Grey - Walkin' - Light" trio that lit up the crowd. The set closers, "Victim - Lay Me Down - Music Never Stopped," featured variety of pace and feeling, and never lagged in intensity. No surprises in the second set; just consistent quality playing. Strong encore, which boded well for the remaining shows in the run.

Brent is on fire during this show. In addition to Brent, everyone shines tonight- but Brent really forces everyone to bring it on. This is one of the few 1990 Mydland shows without a big jam before drumz, but post drumz more than makes up for that fact. Get your ears on this show!

My buddy and I went to Tampa/Clearwater for a few days before heading up to these 3 shows. When we arrived, we saw a minor vending scene in front of the CNN center and parked in a parking ramp across the street. We had a few hours before showtime so decided to check it out only to arrive as the local police were shutting everybody down but not before buying a couple cool shirts.Inside the show our seats were side stage up a few rows looking right over Brent. Perfect show from start to finish.

Glad I was at this show - what a great one! A strong Candyman. To Lay Me Down is beautiful, and the Music Never Stopped jam cooks! The Ship of Fools is also a very strong version, and a fitting song choice since this show was on April 1st. Additionally, it's worth pointing out that three songs from this show were selected for inclusion on the live album "Without a Net" (China Cat>Rider and Dear Mr. Fantasy). Wow, it's cool to think back on how awesome spring tour 1990 sounded.

4/1/90 was my very first show. I drove from Nashville to Atlanta by myself and drove back after the show (probably not the best idea right?). What a night! Ended up seeing them on April Fool's Day two more times - the last being in Memphis on 4/1/95 and my very last show on 4/2/95. I got on board late but glad I didn't miss the train. PDfromTN

the best part of this show for me, i suppose (although the entire experience was awesome), was when i looked down at my ticket stub during set break and noticed that i had a floor ticket, which i hadn't realized during the 1st set since i was stoked to simply be hangin w my friends on phil's side but up from the floor. anyhow, they were kind enough to understand that i had to boogie on down near the taper's section for the second set, which of course ended up having three songs that were included on Without a Net. of course, we had no idea at the time that whoever selected those tracks for the album would end up doing so. definitely a groovy experience just to be there nonetheless; and the only time i personally witnessed brent doing hey jude and mr fantasy (of course, the hey jude a bit earlier at Copps Coliseum in Ontario was a far richer and fuller version)
