Little bit of Huey Lewis and the News after Never Stopped caught me off guard there. I got a kick out of it after I figured out what was going on.

    ChickaDD, 1984 check this out
https://archive.org/details/gd1984-04-29.123815.chasingwilma.flac24 I provided this source because it includes the Drums portion, which is cut on other sources. I hope a soundboard circulates eventually, but the audience tapes are pretty good. 4.29.84, dont sleep on this show.

Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have music from an 11 year span of Grateful Dead history, 1973, 1977 and 1984.

Our first selection this week is from 7/1/73 at the Universal Amphitheatre in LA, the final night of a three night run, where we have the end of the first set followed by the first two songs of the second set. Big River ; China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider; Around And Around , start set Two Playing In The Band, Row Jimmy.

Next is the end of the first set from 5/4/77 at the Palladium in New York City, the final night of the Dead's last five night run in NY until they returned for five nights in September 1987 at Madison Square Garden. From the Palladium we have Cassidy ; Deal ; Looks Like Rain ; Brown Eyed Women ; Dancing In The Street.

Lastly this week is the end of the first set and the start of the second set of the show on 6/23/84 in Harrisburg, PA, where we have Big Railroad Blues ; The Music Never Stopped > Don't Ease Me In; Touch Of Grey ; Estimated Prophet. The end of Estimated Prophet ends before going into Eyes Of The World, due to the cassette needing a flip.

Be sure to join us here next week for music from the vault.

1980. More than five nights, fwiw. To be fair, the Dead in fact did not play in New York City much in the early '80s. MSG '83 yes, but I can't think of any NYC shows in '81, '84, '85, or '86. Arena shows were in Jersey and Hempstead.

At least he's playing an uncirculated board from '84. That's cool, no? Maybe he'll play the ones you or we all want to hear...I thought there was one from July you were looking for. (Pine Knob?) Then, there's Alpine '87 which would be neat to hear, warts and all.

I want to go on................gotta row................find what I need to know ......ask me a question that... makes some sense and wants to know....don't worry, don't worry, less you got to know.......no content is no content.....still I gotta know..... what you see is what you get....a "See" without a "Know," so you see as if you know....row, Jimmy, row....................................... I keep on telling people...The Dead are more than what they seem. They encompass a wide strand of folk/rock/jazz music. I love the Dead because they stayed true to their music. Their integrity. That moved me to love.

This '84 Harrisburg material is really great! Thanks so much for sharing it with us. The whole FEELING of the music of the early to mid 80's really shines through! this is a stellar example from that time period and magically really transports me and makes me feel so happy! I sure would love this on HDCD!!!!! I must have listened to this 15 times in the past few days.
