    brings back fond memories, Felt!!
David, I wanted to thank you for culling together episode No. 1372. For many years back in the day, I had a first-set cassette tape of the Felt show that is featured on your radio segment. But in a moment of idiocy I gave it away because I suddenly was no longer taken with the quality of the tape. Actually, I might be too hard on myself, because I can't recall the exact story. At every rate, it was gone, and I've regretted it since, specifically for losing two songs, "Brown-Eyed Women" and "I Wash My Hands in Muddy Water." I was reminded of what I was missing when I again heard Garcia being seemingly a half-step behind in the lyrics and then even draaaawing out "stepped to the bar" on the former and the uniqueness of latter. Anyhow, these ol' ears are much obliged for you resurrecting "my lost tape." Ha! And, to be sure, I stumbled on to the Dead hour achives after visiting the Dead's website for the first time in ... well, many years. Now I'm playing catch up.

    cool story Gr8fulTed
i have seen some GDHour programs for download, but it has been quite some time. Maybe since they pulled soundboards from the archive. A while back my local sation here in Columbus, OH (90.5 , 11pm Sunday nights, GDhour) had the show sequence all mixed up during the complete unreleased soundboard of 5-17-77,(i used to tape them all) they skipped the end of first set program. I emailed DG and he sent me a cdr with that program. I still have it. Thanks D. ... in muddy water. I'd never heard that song before. Thanks David, and GDP, for the tune.Is 12/5/71 available commercially, or just from the Archive/eTree? KKFI is still airing the GDH, after Sunshine Del and I produced it locally in KC 25 years ago. The current on-air jock does a "2nd set" hour, after the GDH; however, he won't spin any bootlegs! Del and I used to play cassettes, then DAT's, in the daze before compact discs.
