Correct date is 02.04.78 Saturday. 01.30-02.01.78@ Uptown Chicago>Madison,WI. Milwaukee,WI. 5 Shows in six days.Had a lot of fun and got into trouble with the truancy officer @ high school. Like, who drives from Kenosha to Chicago to Madison and back to Milwaukee to see the same rock-n-roll band 5 times? The Milwaukee Auditorium was built in 1909 and has a unique history besides the Grateful Dead playing there in '78 and '80.

Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have some fine Grateful Dead music from 1972, 1978 and 1989.

Our first stop is on 9/15/72 in Boston, at the Music Hall. These two shows on September 15 and 16 were originally scheduled to take place at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, NY, but the city decided to not allow the shows to proceed, so theyw ere moved to Boston. From the first set, we have Promised Land ; Sugaree ; Greatest Story Ever Told ; China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider ; Black Throated Wind ; Tennessee Jed ; El Paso.

Next up, from 2/5/78 in Milwaukee, is first set music featuring Jack Straw; Tennessee Jed ; Mama Tried> Me And My Uncle ; Row Jimmy. This show was sandwiched between the two great shows on 2/3 in Madison and 2/5 in Cedar Falls, and is no slouch itself.

Lastly this week is the first set from 2/5/89 at the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center in Oakland, the first night of the Dead's final run of shows at the HJK. From this show we have Touch Of Grey ; Feel Like A Stranger > Franklin's Tower ; Little Red Rooster ; Althea ; We Can Run ; Desolation Row ; Don't Ease Me In, which includes the first-ever live version of Brent's We Can Run.

Be sure to join us back here next week for more tunes from the vault.

I have not compared the two but I think Row Jimmy on the 30 Days download had some noticeable static. For another Super slammin 78' Row Jimmy, which is one my favorites songs to hear the Dead peform, 4.12.78 at Duke
