    Changed my roomie's world
Took my roommate Karen to this show, forced her to come as she was reluctant. We were friends, not involved, so I didn't really have any card to play other than "the ticket is on me if you don't like it." About halfway through Minglewood she turns to me and says, "Hey, these guys are really goooood!" We had eaten a little fungus earlier which didn't hurt and were just coming on when the boys jumped in to a flying, hide-the-weak version of Mexicali Blues which brought the crowd to its knees. They were really, really on that night. Second set they break into Truckin' and Karen was literally throwing her head back and screaming wolf howls with Bobby as the jam started - she was hooked for life. A couple of years later she took her somewhat-naive younger sister to a show back in Ohio. Sitting next to them was some guy who started chatting up the two women. The younger sister and this guy now have 3 kids and have been married for 20-some odd years. Younger sister and hubby have thanked me several times for the connection and roommate Karen just thanks me for making her go to the show. It was a great, great show.

    my first multiple shows
Friends had kept me supplied with tapes and I found myself doing favors as often as possible just so I would be "in the know" for the next possible opportunity to attend a nearby show. It's a never ending thirst for those sweet sounds... May Peace accompany you - grandmaster melliemello

    Bird Song!!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this show, even I was coming down with a nasty head cold. I remember my future ex-wife asking me how long they would play. I thought she, like me, did not want it to end, but it turned out she meant it more like "How long until we can go". Of course, we got divorced 17 years later.
