This needs to be an official release, the segment of the show presented here is on par with E72.

dacpt - answer is no, not yet
but it will , so save some shelf space Got a really good feeling a release from 1979 and 1984 is on tap for one of the 2016 Dave's Picks. 12.1.79 is certainly a contender

12/1/79 Pittsburgh PA show on Tapers section
Does anyone know if the 12/1/79 Pittsburgh PA show featured in the June 13-19 2016 Tapers section came out on CD or another format? I think the part of the show that is featured is fantastic and I would like to have it on disc or MP3. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, David

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll check out some Grateful Dead music spanning 18 years, from 1971 to 1989, with a stop in 1981 to hear some excellent early-ish Brent music.

Our first stop this week is on 12/10/71 in St. Louis, where the Dead were rolling through their first tour featuring both Keith and Pigpen. Pigpen returned to the band on December 1, and stuck around for one more six month blast of creativity, including the Europe ’72 tour. From St. Louis, we have Truckin' > Drums > The Other One > Sitting On Top Of The World > The Other One > Not Fade Away > Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad > Not Fade Away, One More Saturday Night.

Next is the start pf the second set from 12/9/81 in Boulder, CO, one of those shows where virtually every song played is exceptional: Scarlet Begonias > Fire On The Mountain ; Estimated Prophet > He's Gone.

Lastly this week, from 12/8/89 at the LA Forum, we have the end of the second set, featuring I Will Take You Home ; The Other One ; Wharf Rat ; Throwing Stones ; Not Fade Away.

Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.

Looking forward to Dead & Co at Folsom this coming weekend!! My first Grateful Dead show was at Folsom field in 1972: $3.50 for 5 hours, 3 sets, and free pot from the Rainbow family.
