I haven't listened to much GD recently; I have been on a Motorhead kick. Hearing this China Rider right now, it is now spring and summer; I am AT the show; I am with the music. Grateful Dead magic.

    Good 1984 Show
Hey now! This show rocked! Jerry's voice was rough in the beginning but got better as the show progressed. The hand really clicked. I was lucky enough to be there! Great spring tour!Listen and you will agree it started great and only got better.

    I'm with Dan R.
Very cool Playin'Sometimes I think they got into a rut with this song in the 80's and followed a familiar pattern of jamming. This one stands out. Some of my other favorite 80's versions are 9/19/87 and 3/19/86.

Next is the start of the second set from the Grateful Dead’s fourth and final visit to Glens Falls, NY, on 4/14/82, where we have the start of the second set: China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider, Playing In The Band.

From another Falls, this time Niagara Falls on 4/17/84, we have the start of the show, featuring Jack Straw, Dire Wolf, New Minglewood Blues, Row Jimmy.

Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.

This is a very cool Playin' in the Band. Thank you, Deadbase, for guiding me to this one.
