Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have music from three terrific years in Grateful Dead history, 1973, 1977, and 1982.
Our first stop this week is on 5/20/73 at UCSB Stadium in Santa Barbara, CA, where we have this big jam sequence: Truckin' > Nobody's Fault But Mine Jam > Jam > The Other One > Eyes Of The World > Stella Blue. This was the second of three big May shows, with the others being 5/13 in Des Moines, and 5/26 at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco.
Next is the start of the show from 5/26/77 in Baltimore, where we have The Music Never Stopped ; Sugaree ; Mama Tried ; Sunrise ; Deal ; Passenger. This is the penultimate show of what’s widely considered one of the greatest tours in Grateful Dead history.
Lastly this week is second set music from 5/23/82 at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, where we have Samson And Delilah; Ship Of Fools ; Estimated Prophet> Eyes Of The World.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
