In the shows where Donna cannot hear the monitor (most shows pre-hiatus), she often sounds off-key. Post-hiatus, she was better able to hear the monitor and, frankly, often sounds great. I personally don't like the PITB wail no matter when it was done, but let's be fair. Jerry, Bobby and Phil had their off-nights too, we just tend to be more forgiving of them for their instrumental contributions.
Really a craze, the voice of Bob and the guitars on the left and right channels are totally wrapping my inner head, softly, thanks!
Each album we can listen to,where Donna sings is completely a tender care and softness of voice, for example listen the Ace album of Bob Weir,or the Wake of The Flood,or the Shakedown Street ;with no doubt a great experience in our ears.Ok,I think.
This is a killer show. Top-notch.
Yeah fromius, giver her a break Dajokr...
....that was the guy above me. I actually defended her.
Cheers,
d
Is there anyway I can purchuse D.P. #1, without having to commit to all the others? I'm an ''old-time'' dead-head & prefer the pre-1980 shows...so I would like to ''pick & choose'' the C.D.'s I would like to buy...besides the $95.00 + is a little much for a half-breed hippie like myself...THANK YOU---TOM-TOM.
So far only the subscription has been offerred for sale. We know that Vol 1 will be 5/25/77 and what the cover looks like, but the full details have yet to be announced.
This cover art is OK, star wars theme I get it. I miss the old fractal art of dicks picks. I want to see some spiral fractals. Something I would hallucinate if I were at this show on LSD25. ;-} Something inspiring and imaginative.
Location
Sonically, this might be great, but no show with Donna need be released in this or any series. She seems like a nice person, but she just didn't have a good voice then and her timing was terrible.
