• The BootLeg that got me busted
This is the last design that I did before working with Club Dead- that wasactually sold in the lots. At the Atlanta shows that year- they FINALLY got strict with the usage of the band's name being a copywritten item - and started confiscating from the lot venders. I only needed to sell one more to get into the show that night and they nailed me. ((It hurt to the the LOSER that night,-- but, it opened the door to a better future 'Working FOR the band and not stealing FROM the band' <--as the guy in the parking lot so eloquently stated.) I called it 'ELEMENTAL'- - - and I'm going to find a way to get it into a future LEGIT t-shirt someday! Any ideas-- feel free to pass them along! Cheers!

    Honored.
I am SORRY to hear about your house fire. That is a real heartbreaker. TaLK ABOUUT 'MAKING A FRESH START'. ~Dang! - - -Then I notice the time warp- - - and realize that my reply is actually coming 5 years late. . . Earth to Major Tom...Major Chuck. Thanks for the kind words anyway,. Oddly enough, the Biz is only just NOT getting geared up and printed stuff will flow into the wild at a respectable price so that mass quantities will be affordably available to choose from and collect. I spend most of my time on murals and at festivals but the monthly check arrives right on time from a couple of Grateful Dead shirts done back when the tour was still rolling. IT reminds me of what a long strange trip this really has been, and how far we've all come. I'm adding some fancy stuff in with my delivery to your address "E". :-)

    I will let you know!
I understand that we can put art onto any surface -anywhere. Literally, they can wrap buildings and buses in print nowadays, so doing a t-shirt shouldn't be such a big deal- should it.? Darn you Facebook... Hoping to get art onto stuff THIS very year. - Will let you know. :-) Cheers and Thanks Much~!

I strongly dislike (ain't no time to hate) lawyers with a passion but the ones I strongly dislike the most are lawyers who protect intellectual/artistic/industrial copyrights. Our world would be such a better place if we just shared all the stuff we collectively invented and stopped spending so much time, energy and treasure so that the the person who thought up the idea first could reap massive profits and take pleasure watching the poor peasants toil for bowl of cruel gruel from the turret of their castle. !@#$%^&*() Lawyers! Even the cops are afraid of them! Every dog has his day though. ~ And the aces are crawling up and down your sleeve ~

I guess it depends if you are a Pirate or not! But if it has a copyright it's illegal to reproduce it.--EVEN if you make your own picture- it is illegal to use someone else's Logo or registered name in that art.<--- but, I doubt that the authorities will try to stop someone giving away their wares or someone handing out a tribute. ((It's just when you try to use the system to make a buck- THAT's when you get into a sticky-wicky.)) I miss my carefree Pirate daze. - - -Who's got my miracle? ArtguyChuck (we are everywhere!!!)

And I love the artwork! To say that you are stealing from the band because you use the words Grateful Dead in typescript on top of that lovely depiction of SYF (LOVE the morning glory eyes!)is treachery. Avoiding the band's lawyers in the parking lot sounds like a very weird scene indeed... What is the point they are trying to make? Will they be any richer if I don't buy it from you? Give me a choice of buying the Tour T for $30 and the one with 2 screens and original design in the parking lot for $10 and I'll take the homemade one made with TLC every time!

Thank you Lobsang!! You ROCK!!! I guess they had a few bad eggs messing it up for the rest of the fam. It may have also had something to do with Grateful Dead Merch turning into Grateful Dead Productions- - - adding new folks must've changed things around. I think it's down the the sport-phishers- - - if they do a good job with the art and ALSO do a good job selling it without making waves-- I'd feel fine paying $10 for a nice shirt in the lot! ((Usually can't afford a $30 shirt on a GOOD day!)) LOL! ArtguyChuck (we are everywhere!!!)

I would never try and make a buck off someone elses work.. I just think the picture would be a great CD cover for a vine or one of the spring tour shows. Maybe like put it on a copy of both spectrum shows or something, to send to a friend to keep (not for resale)Either way, Its a beautiful piece of artwork and I have to give the artist LARGE props!!!Peace- Moye

I Love ya Moye!! I pass those props back to the band for inspiring me so much for so long!! I like to think that I'm pulling the vibe FROM the music, like at the shows -how the band flows with the energy that the audience is tossing right back to 'em. It all works together very GROOVILY. <-- is that a real word? Rock On!!! : )) w/ Love, ArtguyChuck (we are everywhere!!!)
