• Dusted off and Ready to Roll (#1)
I've been doing art since I was a kid. I used t pay my way to the shows with bootlegged t-shirts in the lots- - (my own art featuring a tribute to the band- - ). In 1990 I got popped 3x in one Atlanta weekend and a guy finally sat me down and said, "Quit stealing FROM The band and work FOR the band".- - -I thought, "whatever-- they don't need me". . . Shut out of making the ticket for night #3 at the Onmi-- I put LOSER on the tape deck and sadly drove away.- - -But luckily- I hita small shop in Little 5 Points and met a sister that couldn't buy my work- but who COULD give me a number to a bro in San Fran who had a small group that catered to the tour effort -- called "Club Dead". - - -Tom Stack invited me in and we began a 4 year collaboration that produced 5 venue designs and the '94 Fall TOur BANJO design (see my avatar). - - -SO the dream really can come true. I'm living proof.. When in '95 I kind of hung it up as Club Dead turned their wares pver to Liquid Blue--- and they continued to sell the BANJO art- - - and after 15 years-- we fnally struck another deal to release 4 more designs. ((IT took me a long time to feel like I wasn't being a bad guy for bringing GD art to the market-- - I mean,-- when JG took off- - it created a sense of loss that made me feel like I was betraying the Family Love by setting up shop again- - - but, now, with the new tour I'm feeling like Jerry wouldn't mind.- - -So here are my 1st 4 designs- from the heart- to my family and I look fwd to many many more years of Love int he future! Afterall- we gotta keep the dream alive!! Much Love, ~Chuck
