• Fillmore afterparty: John Barlow on vocals with Band of Brotherz
April 25-the 26th... The Fillmore, NYC... 2:44am, everyones feelin' REALLY good ... and JOHN BARLOW walks out on stage and starts singing with Band of Brotherz...out of nowhere!! Couldn't have been more than 50 people in the joint. What a night; after an amazing Dead show at MSG, BOBBY special guests (and pulls out THE GOLDEN ROAD!) along with Rob Wasserman, Kenny Brooks, & Jay Lane. RedRocksTodd, DeadGrrl and I were right there to take it all in... Like waves against the bandstand, dancers broke! We could practically reach out and touch them. What a night, what a night!! Still in awe.

    Lucky you...
What a wonderful experience, and after that Dead show, which was slammin'. Nobody could ask for a better evening of fun, being in those special guest zones is so often just a matter of luck & timing. Way back when in the summer of '71 got to see Duane Allman playing guitar for Delaney & Bonnie at the Mississippi River Festival. Just good luck... Peace, Steve

I posted a vid to the MSG page of john singing that night at the Fillmore with Band of Brotherz. I have no idea what he was singing but it was so damn cool to experience it live! Not sure if anyone else captured the moment so if not, I hope he gets to see it and relive the fun ...what a night it was... : )
