Friends hanging out in front of the Oakland Auditorium Arena during the New Year's Run. We drove out from Massachusetts, including an adventure abandoning the car on the highway outside of Boulder Colorado on Christmas Eve when they closed the road during a blizzard. Bill Graham doesn't get enough credit here -- he arranged for us all to be allowed to set up our tents and camp in front of the hall for the entire run -- how difficult do you think THAT was to sneak past the permit-issuing authorities!
