I was working for a local bakery here in Charlotte at the time of the Oct. shows and I had gotten a promo poster for 'Built To Last' (which I still have btw) that had a skull with a pumpkin on it. The poster says 'On Halloween The Dead Rise Again'. I took the poster to one of the cake decorators and had her copy the poster onto the cake you see above. I got an order form and filled it out so it read that Bill Graham had ordered the cake and a friend and I took it to the Colisem about 4:00 the afternoon of the concert. 4:00 is ususlly soundcheck time so I thought maybe we might get to meet some of the band. The lady at the security desk let us pass through and we arrived at the back door of the Colisem with cake in hand. As we went in the door, I saw Ramrod & Parrish milling about and asked Parrish who we could give the cake to. He took it out of my hands and put it up to his ear as if it had a bomb in it! Then Ramrod came over to see what was going on. He took the cake from Parrish and asked me if it was dosed. I told him no, it wasn't dosed that we had received the order from Bill Graham at the bakery and nothing was funny about it! It was quite comical seeing all these guys checking out the cake. Anyway, we ended up with some extra tickets courtesy of the band that night which we kindy gave away in the lot!
