I decided to start collecting (and framing) posters about three years ago. Since I didn't want to bankrupt the retirement fund buying vintage posters, all of mine are new.
As the retirement fund has managed to bankrupt itself this year, lesson learned -- I should have bought the posters!
Meantime, I'll live vicariously through Buddy's posts. Thanks!
... very much for the kind words. I always enjoyed the visual aspect of the scene, not only the posters, but the light shows as well. Anybody else remember the glass-enclosed room, off to the side of the stage at the Avalon with all the black-lights? Anyone could venture in there, get painted up, and freak freely... oh, those were such good times...
.....jerry miller, lead, born and raised here in tacoma.......see him play couple times a year......bluesmaster!! and just plain nice guy. i had the pleasure a few years ago of being in the oasis bar when they did a live recording (got my name in the liner notes). jerry got to jam with his dad playing a hammond b-3.....awesome evening...they listed everyone in the joint and we all recd the first discs "an evening with jerry miller and co."
