It's all in the eyes (art 101 - self portrait)

An artists rite of passage is the proverbial self-portrait, and the last one I did was a long time ago in college. Self portraits are not just a face, but a reflection of one's inner-self and all the intricacies that go with; be they the warm reds and golds of energy and confidence, or the blues & greys of those sad, rough and tumble days we all have.

Colors and shadows and lines and textures are all part of our makeup, and as we age we change physically and mentally. We remember, we forget, life is a test, you know the drill. There is very little about the human makeup that doesn't change.

Except for our eyes. From day one until the day we die, that is a constant.

For me another constant that will never change is the love I have for the music of the GD, and it's reflected right where it belongs, in my eyes.

Those would be the Eyes of the World. You've got them too. ; )

and vibrant living color to. Wave on...
Interesting about the eyes as well...I was just talking about that with some friends at a party. There were some kids and some babies and someone got to mentioning that babies eyes look big 'cuz that's the way they are for life...we kind of grow into them...as we go. Cool.

my favorite painter is van gogh and his self portraits are an insight to his soul.

I think you have captured your inner voyage as well.

Love this and the other work as well. Keep up the outstanding work.
