'Happy' or .....'Pretty Ill' Who can tell?

How happy could he have been? Think about it. This is right before he fell into a diabetic coma, was seriously dehydrated, his blood "thick as mud." Etc., etc.
Sunglasses hide the eyes, which can't hide a thing. He would occassionally take them off for interviews, because in his words they 'don't convey much humanity.' Precisely!
