This photo was taken backstage shortly after the second set we had just played together for the Phil Lesh University show on November 8, 2006. It was a night I will not soon forget. I decided at age 12 that I wanted to be a professional drummer and have stayed the course ever since (a decision due in no small part to the inspiration and example set forth by the Grateful Dead). To have the opportunity to make music with Phil, one of my all time most revered musical heroes, for even just one night was truly a dream come true and something I am eternally grateful for.
