• In Kesey I Trust
For me it was a no-brainer to create a work of art in honor of Ken Kesey for this site. His influence and importance in Grateful Dead culture and lifestyle is paramount. From the Bus to the Pranksters to the Dark Star rap at the Halloween show in 91, and soooo much more. Kesey was a major player. And his novels? Only Prankster Number 1 could conjure up the intensity and depth of his writings. Being lucky enough to have attended Dead shows and other events where he was a participant, and having his aura rub off on me in its own way, this piece of art pretty much just steered itself. ; ) If Zane Kesey (Ken's son) restores the original Bus one day, I'd give my middle finger to have one square foot to paint my masterpiece. Thanks Ken, coming from another Oregonian. If I drove a semi-truck for a living and spent my days & nights Truckin' up and down the interstates, I'd drive a Kenworth. Thank you. -Tom Mittemeyer

Had it not been for Kesey and the Pranksters, we would not exist.
