This was my second Grateful Dead show and my second trip to the MRF. We had a couple of gallon jugs of Koolaide(thanks to John) that we tried to take in. We were refused!? Two of our party(Greg & Bob) found a hole in the fence with the Koolaide but were caught before they could reach the crowd and escorted out with our tickets and liquid. We then finished enough of the liquid in the parking lot, passed around the rest and entered the show.It was a good crowd and a hot August evening in the valley. The band started off strong with Alabama Getaway. about half way thru the first set the skies opened up and the storm stopped the show. We huddled under our tarp and waited. The band returned and finished off the set. I recently aquired a disk of the show and the funny thing is you can hear the crowd cheering! Not the band but the human mud-luge that was taking place going down the hill.
What a great night I'll never forget.
