Shoreline August 1991 - A sweet vibe was still alive!

The main parking lot right at the entrance of shoreline was a favorite of mine - that is when they actually let people park there. It was separate from the mega endless lot of gravel that was across the street. I remember sitting on that little strip of grass in the main parking lot just soaking in the vibe and the smells and all of the beautiful people that seemed to be everywhere - singin', dancin', and smilin'!

It was such a mellow but potent vibe and it felt like I was always with my 1000 of my best friends.

Does anyone remember the totem pole inside Shoreline that was either dedicated to or donated by Bill Graham? I always remember there was always a magical vibe that ignited at the totem pole during intermission. Does anyone have any pictures of that?

With Peace,

Brother A

Yeah!!

Nice one! That brings back memories! I see the grassy strip on the left, that was THE place to be! I wonder if I'm one of the colorful little spots in the background...! :) It would be wonderful if there was a machine that we could hook our brains up to to "download" our visual memories onto. Then that we could play them back on a cinema screen for friends etc...! After editing any bits out that are not applicable, of course! :) J

Are you kind?

love this photo

Hey thanks for posting this. I have such good memories of shoreline. It is my "hometown" venue. I love that you captured the parking lot. Yes, that grassy strip was a place to be. The tent was the focus of a trip where to me it looked like a rocket blasting off. I also remember when Bobby was singing Minglewood and he changed the words into right here in this garbage dump. Shoreline used to be a garbage dump. Well, great photo. Love it.

Im in there somwhere

....We would always try to park where there was the strip of grass in the front.(in this pic looks like its one row further up twards the entrance) During the 89 runs we also parked and camped at the park behind the venue before they put up the guard shack. One show they asked us to move (to a better spot) becasue they wanted to get all VW busses around the grassy area and take a ariel shot. Does anyone have that pic? My memories from inside was that huge "thing" you could pound on that made all those great sounds. I also remember the totem pole that was mentioned... Getting in there early and staying after to roll down the hill...Nothing like a Shoreline show!
