Terrapin

I was walking through our town nature preserve for the first time, which was converted from a garbage dump in 2006. The hills and trails lead out to the bay with views of Jones Beach and New York City. This sign was at the end of the preserve where you must retrace your path. Terrapin - I can't figure out if it's the end or the beginning.
