Phil's hat?

These are great photos, I hope most of them are included in the released album. I noticed that in some photos, Phil is wearing an inverted a white sailor's hat, or so it looks to me. On other pictures, he is not wearing the hat. Is it every other song that Phil is wearing the hat?
What gives here?
