DEAD COVERS PROJECT 2018
It's about that time to break out the banjo, gather up the family band, and let your creativity flow, visually and vocally. The DEAD COVERS PROJECT returns in 2018! We will be featuring selections on Grateful Dead properties all February long but you can send in your submissions as soon as January 1st. Simply upload your video to YouTube, tag it "DeadCoversProject," and we'll make it available to view on the band's official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/gratefuldead in February.
"Married me a wife she's been trouble all my life" see you next year
Submissions are over for this year, but for next year, I have some advice:
I took a look at your tags. You have "DeadCoversProject2018" as well as "Dead Covers Project"
The tag should simply be just: "DeadCoversProject"
Your vids sound promising although not really a 'video'
Best of luck in 2019.
Could we make our own playlist that includes all the chosen videos from each day in February? I checked it each day, but didn't keep track perfectly. I've also thought about a facebook group for participants to share ideas, videos, gigs, projects, etc. Maybe we could do a fundraiser for the Owsley Stanley Foundation.
I took a look at the source code on your videos Youtube page.
You have a tag named: "Dead Covers Project"
It should be: "DeadCoversProject"
Great tribal jam btw.
Will have to look you folks up if we wind up out your way.
I posted a video over a month ago titled "Dead Covers Project 2018 - JPGS - The Other One" but it is not on the list. I followed all the instructions. What's the Deal?
Don't expect administrators to answer any questions or explain anything further.
No one has in the last few years.
I suspect an algorithm at work here.
I first noticed it a couple of years ago when videos that had nothing to do with the GD or even music made their way onto the list.
The video is called: Dance Till Your Dead / Heads Will Roll (JVH - C Remix) - Launchpad Cover - Project File
Notice the title contains the words 'Dead', "Cover" and "Project"
So it's not too surprising that it wound up on last years list.
What is surprising is that there was no moderator checking the videos which resulted in this video landing in 55th place.
It's not fair to all the folk who have put in a lot of time and effort only to be outranked by videos that have nothing to do with the Dead Covers Project.
Many people have offered their services to Dead.net to help oversee and moderate the list....they should be considered.
.....then again, no one from Dead.net is reading this....so there's that.
hello -- i see only 68 videos on your youtube playlist. surely you had at least twice that in terms of submissions? some of your "videos of the day" aren't even on the list! and this was updated yesterday? just wondering if anyone's paying attention! my video is there, so advocating on behalf of those others who posted and tagged, but seem to have been left out. don't forget them! some great videos, and heads who stumble upon that playlist would be cheated if they don't get all the goods!
p.s. if y'all need some help, i'm happy to leave my fulltime job and take this over for the GD organization. let me know if you wanna see a resume. ;-)
I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate Dead.net making this available for musicians and videographers. I can't wait till next year. Especially because I have a new camera to work with to get more angles :):)
Everyone's videos and music are great to watch! I just let the playlist play them all :D
