There is a problem with 22 across and 4 down. No doubt about it, even with my scrambled brain, those two answers simply don't fit. But goof ups come with the territory.

I agree there's a problem with 22 across, but 4 down works if you use a different metalic element than Pb in 14 across.
X-word puzzles
I like to do crossword puzzles in my spare time... (what little that I have.) I'm not smart enough to do the NY Times though, forget that!
