The Southwest bracket is the most difficult bracket to chose. Ha. This is fun. I changed my winner about four times now. They were 5.10 then 4.17, 5.26 and finally 4.26. I guess i settled on HYH simply because of Pigpen. Here you have outstanding versions of Lovelight, Stranger, Lovin. Also one of my fav Truckin from the tour and a sweet Comes a time.
Just a little hyperbole ....
"any other result would be flawed:"
..really
I guess there's no point for the rest of us flawed, humble beings to give our opinion
Jerry would never be so arrogant
Any other result would be flawed:
1-5/26: Jerry knew it when he picked the heart of it for the album
2-4/26: Dick knew it when he picked it for the next release from the tour
3-4/8: Dave knew it when he picked it for the finale of the third release from the tour
1. Copenhagen 4/14/72 -- long one of my favorite shows of any era. amazing dark star jam, and rest of that jam/set is in a word -- spectacular
2. Paris, 5/3/72 -- wonderful energy and playing throughout the shoe, truckin other one bobby mcgee phil jam
3.4/26/72 "Hundred Year Hall" -- PITB, Lovelight, Caution another spectacular, high energy and virtually flawless jam Ok the rest is not quite up to that
5/10/72: Concertgebouw-Amsterdam Holland; an AMAZING "Tennessee Jed", "Loser" and "He's Gone."

I always thought the ideal Dead "single" would be the Live Dead "Dark Star" b/w the Hundred Year Hall "Other One"... Issued on 33 1/3 in late 1972, it seems to me it woulda had the potential to transform some people's peceptions of the Dead, JMO.
