    Grateful Dead Hour no. 1142

    Week of August 9, 2010

Second of two very recent programs featuring the Rhythm Devils, who are on tour this summer (August-September 2010). Keller Williams was in the band for the first leg of the tour; starting August 21 it's Tim Bluhm of The Mother Hips. When I met Tim at the Rhythm Devils rehearsal, he gave me a copy of his band's most recent CD, Pacific Dust; I have been listening to it over and over ever since. Tim is new to the Grateful Dead songbook, and I'm really looking forward to hearing what he brings to this band.

This week's program concludes with a sweet tribute to Jerry Garcia by Seattle's Kuli Loach.

    Nice
Who is that singing "So Many Roads"? I like it. I am usually not a big fan of the "dead leftover" groups/projects . . . but this was a nice exception. Good stuff.
