Grateful Dead Hour no. 343
By David Gans
Week of April 17, 1995
Grateful Dead 1/22/68 Eagle's Auditorium, Seattle
ALLIGATOR
Grateful Dead 1/20/68 Municipal Auditorium, Eureka CA
CLEMENTINE->
NEW POTATO CABOOSE->
BORN CROSS-EYED->
SPANISH JAM->
CAUTION JAM->
DARK STAR
Request by Dennis Gore. Kick-ass jamming from the period that gave us Anthem of the Sun!
"Clementine" didn't stay in the GD repertoire very long. We used the 2/2/68 performance for the boxed set So Many Roads (1965-1995); this one is cool, too.
You can browse or search the Grateful Dead Hour program logs on the GD Hour web site. Let me know if there's a particular program you'd like to hear, and feel free to post requests and comments here or by email to gdhour@dead.net.
Thanks for listening!

If there was one, 343 would go in by unanimous vote in it's first year of eligibility. This one is sublime.
I could not agree more!!!
What sinchronicity pomo1 . Seeing your profile , you re an absolute veteran of shows . Good for you . The sinchronicity of Born X eyed & D star are far out .
BTW friends , this weeks TS of D Lemieux is the f**n smoker . There s a Playin that s gonna make you smile non stop for a whole day
Peace
Phil and his band were amazing last night. Danced through the entire second set which included Dark Star and Born Cross-Eyed. Glad I listened to this Dead Hour to get psyched.
I only wish Phil would let DG have some of their live stuff to feature on new GD Hours.
Digging this jam session, solid it is.
Coconut Phil, living Free.
I am getting ready to see Phil tonight at Jones Beach. What better way to get psyched than to listen to some great classic Dead! Thanks again, DG.

peace and sunshine to all !!
Totally awesome recording. I can't believe it's 40 years old. Just the fact that someone had the foresight to tape these shows blows my mind. Thank you David and Dennis!!

Loved it! An excellent selection this week. I just love anything related to the Anthem sessions. A psychedelic masterpiece indeed!
