Grateful Dead Hour no.777
by David Gans
Week of August 11, 2003
By request, this week and next we'll hear some unreleased Grateful Dead music: the complete second set of 6/25/85. Also in this week's post, some music from the soundtrack of Bob Dylan's weird and wonderful movie Masked and Anonymous. Bob starred in the film along with an all-star cast that included Jeff Bridges, Penelope Cruz, John Goodman, Jessica Lange, Luke Wilson, and many more. And tons of great music.
"Diamond Joe," featured here, is also heard (sung by David Nelson) on the Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band album Almost Acoustic; I've always loved that song - and the rest of the CD, too.
Enjoy!

I ve Always been an admirer of the June 15 Greeks show , and the 2nd set of 06.14 . AS well as other really great moments in summer 85 .
Im gald i had the oppportunity , thanks to yer program , to focus in on this beautifully played 2nd set

p.s. And as our friend Schwack from NH said , the Drums are great . They remind me incredibly of the Deer creek July 21.1994 rums . Those exotic sounding drums that Mickey was playing in the beginning ( drum pads i believe ] took me back to those fine memories ..
